Camo Cheetah Look

I really have been wanting to get on trend and get myself some Camo pieces. When I saw this little skirt at H&M that had the camo feel with the cheetah pattern.. I could not resist.. especially since I was able to get it for $5 .. now what's not to love about this deal.  What I love most about H&M is that both my teenage daughter and I can find things we love in this store. I paired this awesome skirt with a simple tan t-shirt trimmed in lace.. and I have created a fashion remix..What about you ladies what trend are you wanting to try for fall?

Girls night with the Shoe Twins

Saturday morning started out kind of rough.I was having car problems and ended up paying $400 to get it fixed.. so that kind of put me into a mood. I was able to get in a little shopping with sister and Mom and it was limited with the question of how much my car actually would cost looming in my head. This was my 2nd day at Pennys I was there with my friend on Friday.. aka the shopping Ninga and found deals out of this world. After such a long day I was in need of girls night out... yes Martini's please! The funny thing is I shop with my friend Latoya all the time so we end up running up on a lot of the same deals. We both ended up getting these lovely shoes from Kohls that I have blogged about before. However she had me beat with the help of Kohl's cash and coupon she ended up getting these for $6.47.. We both ended up wearing these shoes out the same night... love the way she styled these also.  Please see details on Saturday night out look.

The Power of the Flower

It's Thursday.. not as good as Friday but I'll take it.  Another cool morning in Indiana it is supposed to get up in the 70's today. So this morning there is a definite draft going up my skirt.. I just wasn't feeling the whole tights thing this morning. I will just turn on the little heater under my desk and problem solved till this afternoon. I just love reading all these blogs with excellent tips for the transition from Summer to Fall. If it hadn't been for me reading those I probably would have passed this little number up. I felt like I had enough dresses for summer but putting shirt under it made this a transition worthy ensemble :) Also this is from H&M and ladies they are having a fantastic sale. Midweek in a Midi

Well ladies we are at that halfway point again. I am starting to like Wednesdays a little more because I have an awesome Zumba class tonight. I love to dance and I don't get to do it much anymore . The latin moves are my favorite ... I see now that my hips are good for something. Only thing missing is there are no Margarita's .. Now that would be the ultimate Zumba class!

I am so excited to say that I was added to Midwest Syle Bloggers site.. I just love talking about fashion , hair products and etc. I love the fact this focuses on the Midwest with people not living in New York or LA. Style choices change depending on the area. I live a simple life in the Indiana and I want to feel like I'm a little fashionable. :)

I am in love with this midi convertible skirt from Jcpenny. I love the fact it can adjust to different lengths to change up the look. I am all about getting more bang for the buck!  I am quite sure I will be featuring this piece frequently because it is so awesome! I wish it came in other colors because I would definitely invest in more.. The top was from a recent H&M purchase and I fell in love it when I saw it online. When I went to the store all their clearance is buy 1 get 1..  They had rings for $1 and than you get one free..tons of jewelry , clothes and accessories. You fashionista's  should definitely check it out!  Have a wonderful Wednesday Ladies :)

Tights Anyone?

Since it is officially fall I decided to wear my tights today. The weather this morning surely felt like a fall morning. I love fall it's the winter time I have an issue with. Those Indiana winters are not alot of fun fashion wise for me. Now the fall on the other hand.. getting those sweater dresses and boots out. I love that part of it. My look today was a simple Monday look. I have had this JLO dress from Kohl's for a while. I love the fit of it and the color pattern in it and it's oh so comfortable . I paired this with my fav Rock and Republic booties and tights.  I am going to miss my summer dresses . Some of them may make another appearance restyled for fall and winter. I hope everyone enjoys their Monday as much as they can anyway :)

Soulful Sunday

What a great Sunday it was . I started off the day by going to church with an old friend that I recently have gotten back in touch with. It's amazing how God puts people in your life at just the right time.  The older I get the more I am more convinced of this. I also got to take in a football game today. My baby boy ( he's 12 and yes he hates that I call him my baby boy).had a football game and yes they did win!  He is going through that stage that he no longer wants to be a mama's boy.. and it hurts! My daughter always jokes that I am going to be like Marie on Everybody loves Raymond.. Lol I am not that bad .. not yet at least.

This was my church look today. I am most excited about these amazing shoes made by Rock and Republic at Kohl's.. Not only are these shoes so sassy and cute.. they are so comfortable.. yes I did say comfortable. I have been watching these shoes for at least 6 months maybe even longer. When I saw these beautiful shoes where on sale for $19.99 and had a coupon . I knew the time was now for me to grab them.. I styled this with a simple black ruffle dress that I got at H&M . I wanted the shoes to be the focal point. I added a bracelet that was a gift from my aunt and uncle and ring that I have had for years. The bag was from my Goodwill haul a few weeks ago!

How was your Sunday ladies.. are your ready for Monday?

Pep in my Step!

I got some pep in step this morning. I am not sure if it's the shoes or the fact that it's Friday!  Looking forward to checking out a Friday evening high school football game. My son than plays on Sunday so basically I am becoming quite the pro when it comes to football. I am thinking they should make me the locker room reporter for Espn :)

I have combined two of my favorite fall trends in this casual Friday look. The first is this burgandy /berry color. I am in love with this color and the animal print booties.. I have this top in 3 other colors in the sleeveless version that I have blogged about previously. Now this one with the cap sleeves is great for the fall. I seriously need to go back and get a few more of these.. they can be styled so many different ways. I love the way material feels like something very high end.  The booties were a score from last year at Macys! You have got to love their end of the season shoe sales . I ended up getting these for like $20 .. luvs it!

Maximista Wednesday

I love maxi skirts so versatile. I saw this maxi on the clearance rack at Jcpenny and I feel in love. It stands out more than any maxi I have.. It has an artistic flare to it. My daughter the artist will be very proud.  She really does inspire me so much. I was watching Soul Sunday on the Own channel this past Sunday and Oprah was interviewing the great Maya Angelou and she told a story of when she was 22 and her mother told her " I think you are the greatest women I met" . Those words really made me think about my feelings about my own daughter. She is in fact the greatest young woman I have ever met. She is in a category with my mother.... huge heart , sensitive , so intelligent and the beautiful artist. She tells me things that I need to hear.. not what I want to hear. This blog has really helped us communicate better as Mother and Daughter and as friends.

Typical Tuesday in Indiana

It's Tuesday... lets look on the bright side at least it's not Monday.  I have 2 football games to attend tonight and I am hoping it doesn't get too cool this evening. I get so emotional at these games whob would have known years ago that I would be one of those Mom's.. the kind that yells in the stands.. and if my baby is out there .. please don't anyone talk to me I must concentrate. My 90 yr Grandmother tells me over the phone... U need to sit your butt down at those games you don't know what the heck is going on.. LOL.. I'm getting better though. When he first started years ago I would be even as bold to walk down to the field and ask.. " Do you plan on putting my son in the game' or my Daddy's favorite... " I think you have my son in the wrong position he needs to be a running back"

My look today is simple for a typical Tuesday in Indiana.  Please see details below and have a terrific Tuesday!

Cool Monday!

What a great weekend and it went way to fast as usual.. Why does it seem like the workweek is endless and the weekend is gone a blink!  I mean literally a I dream of Jeanie blink! I had a weekend full of sports.. can you believe it! I attended a fight party where I was lucky enough to win the pot of $48! I knew I was going to come into some money my hand had been itching all day! That's what my Grandmother says.. when your hand itches you are about to come into some money.. Now I was hoping for bigger money but this enough for me to get my nails done and much needed pedicure! My son had a football game on Sunday where I sat out in rain.. but that's what Mom's do :) When I left that game my hair looked exactly like Don Kings..and that was not cute! LOL  I am wearing my favorite color for fall today Burgundy. I always have a color I gravitate towards during every season and this year for fall I see this will be the one. This is a great transition piece with the long sleeves and light weight material. I paired it was my Steve Madden sandals that kind of have that bootie look for a early fall look  How was your weekend.. anything new and exciting? Did you find any great deals this weekend? Please dish dolls:)

Floral Experiment

I have been inspired with all the blogs I follow and instagram pictures to sometimes go out of my box and try new things! YOLO the kids would say.. Mom stop with the Yolo... I ran across these pants at Sears for $3 and I tried them on.. and thought these have potential..I can do something with these. These are the most comfortable pants ever! I was a little hesitant putting this busy pattern on this pear shaped body but for $3 I would give it a try! I peared.. I mean paired these with my faithful Worthington white blouse and the pants actually have a fold down waistband but I thought it looked better on my body to roll it up for a higher waisted look. I thought these would be cute with t-shirt and and statement necklace also.. What do you fashionistas think?

As you can probably tell from some of my previous posts.. I just love some stripes. When I saw this skirt at Kohl's I just had to get my short chubby hands on it.. I saw the great possibilities in this piece. I can think of so many ways to style this .  I paired this with a beige button down that I got from my Goodwill haul for only $2 and this look kind of just fell together.. Kind of Casual Friday!

Usually on Friday I go casual with jeans.. Today I kept it kind of casual with my chambray skirt. I feel very girly in this . Something about wearing a flowing skirts just makes you want to twirl around.. no I have not been drinking this morning just having a childhood moment.  My life this weekend will be centered around football..My son has practice Saturday and game Sunday. The other part of my weekend will relaxing and trying to get over this cold.

Not your Mama's Cheetah!

Does anyone remember that show Married with Children? I used to associate all animal prints with Peg Bundy..she use always wear that tight animal print.. LOL . I used to the think it was so cheesy well I am glad to say that I have grown out of that! I love animal prints.. but I try not to overkill it. I will like to just wear a piece at a time.. no leopard pant with matching leopard shoes. That's just not me. Whenever I wear animal print my son is like " Mom you are not a Kardashian you are my mother" lol .  As if they had they are the only one that can wear animal print! I think I liked it better when they didn't have so many opinions.

I loved this dress when I first saw it in Kohl's and I love the darker colors so it can serve as another transition piece in my closet .  I can wear this with wedges like in this pic and I can also wear it with tights and a cardigan.. there are so many possibilities.  I am taking this using something at least 3 ways pretty serious.. lol

Details

Dress- Kohls dress- after coupon $20
Shoes - Macys - Franco Sarto $19
Bracelet - Charming Charlies- old $5

I hope you ladies take a walk on the wild side or unleash your inner Kardashian and get some Animal Print :)

One Happy Curlygirl!

I am not sure if you tell but I am a product junkie when it comes to hair products. There you have it I said it. They say admitting the problem is the first step... LOL . You will find me lying on the couch in the evening watching You tube videos about curly hair . I am in love with the natural movement. How much easier life would have been for me if this would have happended when I was younger trying to tame all of this hair!  With this movement there is so many product offerings.. just when you thought you found your hg (holy grail) than something else comes along.

So yesterday I went to Ulta on lunch to get the Giovanni leave in  after watching Lipstick n Curls youtube Curly hair routine! Her hair is beautiful  and I have heard alot of other Natralistas
rave about this and my other purchase was Organix Coconut Milk Conditioner . I have heard people talk about how much they love this as a leave in and as a co wash..

I did use the Organix Coconut Conditioner as a co wash and left a little in my hair as a leave in.  Than I added Giovanni leave in after I parted in 2 sections sealed with Coconut Oil. I smoothed a little Shea Moistur Curl Souffle.  I did this last night and let it air dry for about an hour and put it in a pineapple ( ponytail on top of my head ) and put a bonnet on. When I woke this morning my hair was still wet.. ( I have have thick hair) so I sat under the hair dryer for a bout 30 mins.

I was please with the results so far. My hair was getting dry and I needed to try something different. My hair feels so soft a moisturized . I will see if I am able to achieve 2nd curls which is a challenge for this head! I hope all you beautiful ladies have a terrific Thursday!

Forever 21 ?

My daughter who is 15 reminds me that I am not in my 20's anymore that I am 40 on the daily.  She hates when I shop in Juniors dept or any of "her " stores.  I wasn't aware she was a store owner.. who knew? LOL. Believe me I don't need a reminder that I am no longer 21..I am under no illusion that I am remotely close to my 20's and would definitely not want to be . Im ok with 40.. I am actually more than ok with it. I have way more confidence than I ever had in my 20's . I can remember when I was young and I thought 40 is sooo old.. washed up .. frumpy..When people say that 40 is the new 20.. Well I am not sure that I would take it that far but 40 is far from frumpy these days. I can remember woman at 40 when I came up would wear those house dresses around the house.. they looked like colorful moo moos.. I somehow always knew that would never be me. So no sweet daughter I will not be out buying tight minis' , crop tops or getting my belly button pierced but I will be shopping occasionally in stores such as Forever 21.

I found this dress on my Labor Day shopping haul. There was additional 50% off clearance at Forever 21 this weekend and I got this at a steel. I feel like I can style this so many ways and it's an excellent transition piece.   Have a wonderful Wednesday ladies!
