Polka Dots, Pearls and Hot Pink.. Oh My

I am feeling like such a girly girl today. What says girl like this combo?  I saw this polka dot sweater in Kohl's ad one day and finally found it in the store on a whim. I love the contrast of the hot pink and beige and the style opportunities are endless. I decided to give it a classic vibe with this midi pencil skirt and my high heel oxfords. I edged it up a little with these fingerless gloves (so 80's , so Madonna like.) I scoped these up for less than $1 . I am really trying to stay fashionable in this cold weather that I am so over..I keep seeing the light at the end  of the tunnel that says spring.. so close yet so far away!  How is the weather in your neck of the woods? Are you starting your transition into spring fashion?

Blushing Shabby Chic Leopard

I decided to go with a muted version of one of my favorite animal prints. I love the soft colors  so feminine and soft. I finally got some use out of these blush jeans I purchased last summer. The sweater was an Apt 9 sweater that I found on clearance for $10 and they only had a small. I loved it so much that I just had to make it work . It's a little snug but I am going to roll with it.  I put this Elle shirt under it that I found on clearance also. I love the detail on the collar and at $5 I could not resist. I think it added a little more bling to the look giving it a little shabby chic vibe.  I hope my fabulous fashionista's is having a terrific Tuesday!

Orange you Glad it's Friday!

This week has been ... .. loooooong! LOL. Even though I have to work on Saturday I am thankful it's Friday. One positive thing about Saturday's there is no answering the phone  which is a perfect time to catch up and focus.. I always feel in life I am going a 1000 miles an hour...leave work , get kids, dinner, bath and if I am lucky I get a workout in.. and than I get to get up and do it all over again. I remember a lady I used to work with  told me .."Enjoy it now it will go so fast" . Well back than my kids were 1 and 4 now they are 13 and 16 and she was right. I try to remind myself of that.. during the chaotic days.

My look today is casual with a little color.. I am in desperate need of color with the dreary weather in Indiana. I love stripes and I love Orange.. so this cream and orange striped dress was a no brainer!  I added my faux cream leather jacket from Kohl's and my Cream lace scarf from Clothes Mentor Fort Wayne. This scarf is the perfect accessory and I can see me definitely using many times during this
upcoming Spring and Summer.

Ladies don't forget you can show any of my blog posts featuring any of the items from Clothes Mentor Ft Wayne and you can get double punches on any day of the week. If you are not familiar with Clothes Mentor you can get a key chain and for every $10 you spend you get a punch out. After the keychain is full you get a free $10 in store.

I remember when I first saw these fabulous shoes on Kohl.com . They were priced at $75 and I thought to myself being the frugal fashionista these are cute but to expensive for my pocket. So I waited and one day as I was browsing online I ran across these at $29.99 plus I had Kohls' cash and a coupon code and the rest is history.. lol.. I decided to go a little conservative with the hounds tooth skirt that was major score at Clothes Mentor Fort Wayne.  I love the classic pattern and have learned it can be styled so many different ways . Hot Pink, Leopard and Lace

These are my favorite trends right now. There is so secret I love me some animal print but I am loving the combination of mixing my colors with it. My pre blog days I would only match this with black , tan or brown.. but watching all these other fashionista's out there really gives me the courage to experiment a little. What I love about this dress from Old Navy.. well first of all it was $8 lol.. and that this dress is such a great transition piece. I seriously can wear this dress year around that means more bang for your bucks ladies.  I decided to pair this with my favorite leopard shirt from Clothes Mentor I had actually been eyeing this Jcp brand at Jcpenny and it was $27.00 went to Clothes Mentor and got a Jones of New York brand for $6 . I love this shirt and have definitely gotten my moneys worth and than some. I added my Lace Booties from Kohl's and my look was born.  I hope you fashionista's have a Wonderful Wednesday.

Sleek Saturday

Its been a while since I have worn my hair   straight . People are so used to the big curly hair that they almost don't recognize me. I am always amazed by the length when I get it ironed out. Saturday was a busy one for me. So it was kind of nice getting a little dressed up for dinner. I just went with simple basic items and dressed them up with some accessories. How was your Saturday?

Love is? and my Kissy Lips look(Valentine inspired)

I used to think that I had to get the traditional Valentine's day gift for this day to be a win. That if someone didn't love me enough to send my that bouquet of roses or those chocolate covered strawberries than the day would be total loss. This year was a totally different one for me. This year Valentines weekend is so crazy for me. My Love is out of town on business and will not be back till later and Saturday my son has his first Valentine's Dance ...tear. So last weekend my honey had I some alone quality time and he said he decided he would give me my gift early . Well me being the greedy girl that I am you know I was in total agreement with that. Before presenting me with this gift . He gave a little speech about why he selected this gift for me and gave me this wonderful necklace with my Blog name # CurlyByrdie Chirps. What made this gift so special was the thought he put into this gift. That he wanted to acknowledge something that I am so passionate about and the best part of this gift is that he said he was proud of me...( yes there were waterworks!) I am glad he thought out of the box.. but he is good at that. He encourages me .. wants me to be better not for him.. but for me.  That is what Love is for Curly Byrdie hashtag :)

Now back to buisness :) Can you tell by the kissy lips on my scarf that this look was Valentine inspired? LoL . I love this scarf and have featured it more than once. I decided to match it up with my super cute dress striped Elle Dress at Kohl's . I knew when I first saw this in their ad I just had to make it mine. So when I got my 30% coupon that dream became a reality. I added those cute Rock and Republic booties for some extra Valentine flava and there you go .. Love is in the air. What are your plans for V-day? What will you be wearing?

Sometimes when dealing with these rigid temperatures it's hard to stay fashionable and even more difficult trying to get this big hair in a hat...the struggle is real ! Lol. Jumpsuit Ready

Well it's Tuesday in case you needed a reminder LOL. Tuesday's are worse than Mondays for me because I think on Tuesday you have faced the reality that the weekend is really over.As we anticipate the storm that is on it's way I decided to dress up a little because I know these next few days I will be in middle of another winter storm.. oh the joys of winter! That means more cuddle time with a good cup of coffee some movies and some quality family time so it does have some positive points.

My look today is this JLO Jumpsuit that I have had in my closet for a while. I love that this jumpsuit is very structured. It feels expensive and the fit has a nice tailored feel to it. I decided to add that Kardashian hounds tooth top and my berry colored and bow belt. This jumpsuit is versatile I could totally see me giving me a sexy look with some heels a great statement necklace so many possibilities with this little number.  You did a fantastic job on this JLO.

Its a perfect little romatic  look for Valentine's also. My sister was with me at Jcpennys when l tried this on and she decided she would take one home also. She said she would have never thought to try this on. I told her to just call me the "Dress whisperer" lol! Enjoy your week lovely people :)
