Make me over

All women want to feel pretty and with our busy lives it is so hard to find time to pamper ourselves. We are have so many roles in life that it can leave you a bit overwhelmed.  Ladies I was able to find some time to do something that was just for myself. I went to Merle Norman Luxe Salon and Spa to get my make up done and I even got my first pair of faux eyelashes.  Let me start by saying how much I just love the atmosphere there. Everyone is so friendly and helpful they make you feel right at home. My thing is clothes and sometimes I forget about the Makeup and skincare now that I am in my 40's I decided that now is the time. I had an awesome guy Jeff do my makeup and he was able to select my foundation shade the first time. Now that is a big deal to me because that happens never! My skin is so deceiving it is so hard for me to find a good match that I just resorted to wearing BB Cream but since I am taking photos all the time I wanted more a polished look. The shade selection is unbelievable and that's always been an issue with me in finding a foundation. I also got some faux eyelashes and was so impressed I felt so glamorous and as a woman you want to feel that way sometimes. I noticed while I was there a little room that had chairs and various wigs there . I  was told that they have alot of woman that suffer from hair loss due to health reasons and chemo come in there to find wigs to make them feel beautiful and more like themselves which I think is so awesome. I was so happy with the outcome I didn't feel overly made up I felt natural and polished and that is exactly what I was going for !  This is a full service salon that offers everything from hair to massages. Ladies you should really check them out!
I am also wearing items from Clothes Mentor Fort Wayne and ladies you know what that means you can show this post at Clothes Mentor and get double punches on any day of the week not just Sunday!  The great thing about Merle Norman they are right around the corner from Clothes Mentor so get an outfit and than get your makeup done. You just might see a Curlybyrdie there :)

Sunny Sunday

Words can't even express how happy I was to see the sun today. It has been such a long nasty winter that any little bit of sun gets me excited. I decided to wear my new and super cute maxi dress from Ash's and Co Closet. This dress is so flattering hides those problem areas and you can pair this with a denim jacket on those cooler days. You really should shop this boutique so many fashionable items at a great price. I hope you fashionista's are having a super Sunday.

Thinking Spring

The weather has been less than cooperative since Spring has sprung. Looking forward to getting those warmer temps and seeing that awesome sun on the regular.  I am joined again by my fashionista friend Amy .Our look today really flowed well together and it wasn't planned that way. These are both great work looks .. you could even grab that much needed cocktail after work in these dresses. Its so funny when I first saw Amy I was like "You got this dress from Macys" I knew this because I had been eyeing this dress also. It looks so lovely on her! My dress is light sweater material Simply Vera from Kohl's. I love the see through stripes at the bottom with the tank dress underneath gives it such modern yet feminine vibe. Ladies how is the weather in your area? Are you wearing those spring fashions?

Keeping it Neutral

I love being colorful during the warmer months but I also have a love for muted neutrals.  They are so versatile you can brighten them up or keep them soft. We opted to keep it softer with this look.  The funny thing is we didn't plan to coordinate these looks but it ended up working very nice together.

I decided to go with this jumpsuit and there is a story behind this.. isn't there always with me? I actually found this jumpsuit on the clearance rack last year at Windsor . This was $7 .. yea I said $7 and there it hung in the back of my closet. I am not sure if you have ever been in Windsor . I actually walked by there for years never going in . I thought they just carried prom dresses but they have some really cute pieces and honey when they are having a clearance sale they are having a sale! I have scored super cute accessories for $2.50 on more than one occasion. Some of the pieces are a little to young for me ( just ask my 16 yr old) but there are some really cute age appropriate items in there.. Amy chose a simple dress that she made look effortless. I often say the fit of dress is everything and the fit of this make it flawless. I love the way that she accessorized this it really added just the right ommph... ( yeah that's not a word)  but you know what I mean!

These photos were done by KB Photo and we couldn't be more pleased. If you live in the Fort Wayne area you should really give her a try you will not be disappointed..

How are you lovely ladies wearing your neutrals this Spring and Summer?

Curlybyrdie Meets her Match!

In the honor of Spring weather being around the corner ( I hope) . I decided to do a photo shoot dedicated to Spring fashion . I also have a partner in crime joining me, my good friend Amy. She like myself believes in being fashionable and not breaking the bank.. so you know we are like 2 peas in a pod.. like PB and J , like Ike and Tina.. ok I have just went way to far! LOL.

I want to start by saying what a great time we had  doing these pictures. Our photographer Kim at KP Photo was so great . She made us feel comfortable it was kind of like a girls night out. We were so pleased with the quality and can't wait to use her again!

The first look I love so much. Amy being the fashionista she is ..always comes up some creative ideas. She found this dress on a Maternity rack and put a belt on it.. and accessories and turned this dress into a sexy and classy little number. I am in love with this look! My skirt was one I found at Windsor for $27.00 . I can't begin to say how much I love this little number and it would be safe to say that you will see this many more times on the blog.  This skirt is perfect for those of us with some extra cushion in the lower part of your body ( like me) the material flows so well and feels so nice.  What Spring items are you just itching to wear?

Come on Spring

I fell in love with this Loft skirt when I stumbled on it at Clothes Mentor here in Ft. Wayne. This skirt looked like it had never been worn and it was only $12. How sweet of a deal is that? I discovered that it was a perfect match for this cute little colorblock peplum I picked up at Jcpenney. Even though it is the first day of spring it is pretty cool in these parts so tights were so necessary.

Ladies don't forget that you can show this posting or any other of my blog posts that feature items from Clothes Mentor Fort Wayne and get double punches any day of the week not just Sunday. Also if you have any clothing ,shoes, or accessories that you no longer love go ahead and bring them in. You can get some extra cash or maybe some cute spring pieces. I was just in the store and the Spring /Summer selection is superb 😊 You really should stop in .

I Choose Stripes

I have an obsession with stripes.. I am noticing a definite pattern. It's seems like I can't resist those lines baby.. LOL.  The skirt is one I have blogged about before. I love this Kensie skirt .. or should I say obsessed. I first saw this and it was $59 and if you follow my blog there is no way that I would pay full price for this. So I waited... and low and behold I was able to score one of those $20 off coupons from Carson's and the skirt was 50% off so I ended up getting this baby for $10.. yes I said $10! Such quality material and I love the fit... I matched this with this cute little peter pan collar top I got from Tar-jay.. aka Target that I got off the clearance rack and Curlybyrdie had herself a Monday look.. What are you diva's wearing this Monday morning.. Is there a story about it.. please dish . Everyone have a wonderful week.. a chance for a fresh start! Look at me being all positive..

Hello Sun

I am sooooo happy to see the sunshine today. It has been a long crazy winter. The sun really got me in mood to put on a dress. I just got this super cute maxi dress from a new boutique Ash and Co Closet.  This dress is called the Sun and Paisley which I feel is so appropriate for today. Loving the light and airy fabric it hangs well not to clingy. Since its not quite spring weather yet I wore this with my jean jacket and booties . I can't  wait to wear this baby in the summer with some cute sandles.  I hope you fashionista's got to enjoy some sun today

Snow Snow go Away

This has definitely been the craziest weather I can remember. I am way over my fascination with this cold
white stuff. I am tired of wearing the big boots and hats and gloves.. I am ready for Spring honey.. I want to wear  pretty dresses, open toe shoes and all of it.Winter it's been real but it's time for you to get lost.. LOL.  Hopefully these are my last pics with the white stuff.. I am keeping my fingers crossed! I had to literally change into these shoes in the car . My look today I would describe as school girl chic.. you know kind of Clueless inspired..LOL. This look came together all by accident I had this blouse that I found for $6 at Jcpenny and took everything out my closet to see what I could style this with and ran across this skirt I had forgotten about. It's amazing the treasures I find in my closet.. That is telling me that I need to have a serious Garage Sale.. Ladies it's in the works .. details coming soon..:)

Fierce Monday!

I am feeling awesome today. I think it's due to the fact that it's warming up here in Indiana! Come on sunshine we have missed you. It's amazing how warmer temps can just put you in a great mood.  I had to get in spring mode by bringing some brighter colors into the equation.  How cute is this bracelet I picked up from Kohl's for $3 bucks.. I feel like if you speak it and mean it than you will be it. Just like you have to be careful what you put in your body your mind is the same way. If you tell yourself you are fierce than that is what you become . I loved this dress from Kohl's . I love the stripes and coral is one of my favorite colors for the spring! I couldn't wait to wear this and with the warmer weather I certainly didn't waste anytime. I added my shoes from DSW that I absolutely love and the fact that they were on sale made me love them more :) . What are you fashionista's dying to wear ?  Are you looking forward to Spring/ Summer fashion as much as I am ?
