Friday has come.. Finally!

This is one girl who is so ready for the weekend.  Lucky for me I am off Monday so that makes for 3 day weekend. How sweet is that.. the weather is beautiful what more can a girl ask for. I started out in a grumpy mood but how can you not smile when you look at the beautiful sunshine outside.  This made for some good quality photo's. I thought this was the perfect day to pull out this tropical patterned peplum top I got from Jcpenney . I am obsessed with this cut of this.. so flattering and the colors are beautiful. I decided to wear them with my favorite Loft Jeans that I picked up from the The Clothes Mentor Fort Wayne. I love these jeans so much and since I don't typically shop at The Loft I would have never found these gems. That's what I love about this store so many treasures for a fraction of the cost. You can't beat it.

I hope fabulous fashionist's have wonderful Friday !

My Pretty Garage Sale Find

I just love the warm weather when Garage sales are going on like every weekend. Now I typically don't get that lucky in the clothes dept but on this particular Saturday I stumbled across this cute little lace dress originally from H&M for $4 . I love how feminine and delicate it looks.  I decided to add my little cream skirt extender that I purchased from Group Dealz sometime ago. I thought the lace bottom made it even more girly.

Do you fashionista' s go to garage sales? If so what has been your best find so far ?

Skirting the Issue a Family Affair!

I am so glad the weather has been beautiful here in Indiana. I am finally able to start wearing my spring and  summer items.  I just love the versatility of a skirt you can change the look so much with different tops or by adding a jacket. I have found some really cute ones and look forward to styling them different ways.

I picked up this pattern Bisou Bisou skirt from Jcpenney back in the winter . I knew I could style this so many ways because of the colorful pattern. It was love at first site when I saw this skirt and honey I didn't wait for this thing to get that cheap because I just knew it would go fast. I added my red orange top and my Orange Ora Delphine bag and out the door this girl had business.. LOL. I giggle every time I hear this expression.. " Out the door she had business" My aunt use to say it all the time.. now look at me I am turning into my Aunt Maxine..

Speaking of a skirt I just had to share this super cute skirt that my daughter got from our favorite online boutique Ash and Co's Closet. She fell in love as soon as she saw this darling skirt and  I just love the way she styled it just a chip of the Fashionista block.. :)

My Chevron Maxi

It's a gloomy Tuesday here in Indiana. I am keeping my chubby little fingers crossed that it will brighten up later today.  You never can tell with the crazy weather we have had this year.  I decided that I would wear this Chevron maxi that I have had in my closet since last year. A Chevron Maxi with pleats oh what an awesome combo!  I don't know what has taken me so long to wear this baby because this skirt is super cute and the best part about it I got in on clearance at Macy's for $10. I decided to brighten this up with my tomato colored top and add some studded sandals to give it a little extra edge.
How's is the weather in your neck of the woods. Is it bright and sunny already.. if so I am jealous as heck right now :) Have a terrific Tuesday!

Goodbye Sunday .. Hello Monday

This weekend turned out to be a really wonderful one. I got some work in and I also got some relaxation time in.  My schedule is most pretty hectic most of time with these 2 teenage kids. So it was really nice to get a chance to smell the roses.
On Sunday my luv took my son and I out to brunch. Hanging out with 2 handsome guys on a Sunday morning . It couldn't get better than that. It was kind of a cool morning here in Indiana so I opted for my Loft mint skinny jeans and my Loft Periwinkle top. I scored both of these pieces at Clothes Mentor here in Fort Wayne. I matched these 2 colors together on a whim. I love how following other fashion blogs and my favorite Instagram friends I am starting think a little out the box. I topped it off with my Lauren Conrad periwinkle wedges that were also a find at Clothes Mentor . I love that store , so many treasures at such great prices. You guys know that is right up my frugal alley!
My 2nd look is my Monday workflow look. It's a drag getting up for work on Monday's but I find if I have a cute outfit to look forward to it makes is a little easier.  I got this dress from Kohl's some time ago but they also had a Black and White version that I also have in my closet. Don't judge me.. I love cute dresses that's my problem.. lol.  It's so flattering on this pear shaped body! If you are a pear shape than you know exactly what I am talking about!
I hope you have Fashionista's have magnificent week!

My $1 find plus Tuesday look

Now whoever says you can't anything for a $1 obviously hasn't gone shopping with me. Now this Kardashian Kollection maxi is one that I had eyed last year at Sears. Well I happened to find this in the store by accident and it was now $5 and I had $4 in surprise points on my Shop your Way Reward. My girlfriend scored a different dress for $1 as well. That's what you call some major shopping ninjas.
My Tuesday look was a top that I fell in love with at Jcpenney.  I know what you are thinking this girl is forever in Jcpenney's and Kohl's that would be a yes. The top is Worthington from Jcpenney's. Lucky for me it was 50% off and I had a coupon. I paired it with a pair of wide leg pants also Worthington that I got a couple of years ago. Mother's day weekend Fun

Mother's day for Moms is like Christmas for kids its a day that we are acknowledged for all we do all year around . I have the greatest mom she is the most selfless person that I know. She raised 4 of us alone. We didnt have much but we always had love. She inpires me every day to be a better woman and a better Mother.
My Mother's day weekend started with a 10k walk on Saturday . One of my good friends signed me up . It was my friend and both of our teenage daughters . What a great bonding experience it was on such a beautiful morning. As I was walking I got a surprise message from my 13 year old son . It made me smile and cry at the same time.  It's such a great to loved and appreciated. I was blessed with 2 awesome kids very loving and courteous.
Now of course I couldn't leave my fashionable finds out because the weekend would not be complete.  My brother had a Mother's Day cookout for my Mom yesterday and with it being such a beautiful day I just had to wear a colorful dress. This dress is a Nicole Miller from Jcpenney. This dress is my absolute favorite. I love the flowy skirt and the side cut out givesit a little sexiness. This dress is ultra flattering on a pear shaped body like my own. I just so happened to have the perfect shoe a blue Lauren Conrad that I got from the Clothes Mentor here in Ft Wayne for only $10.
I hope that all you fashionista's are having a wonderful Mother's Day.

Flower Power + some Healthy Finds!

I and beyond thrilled that it is finally Friday!  I am looking forward to a Mother's Day weekend  spending time with my babies .. I mean my teenagers they would like me to clarify they are no longer babies. I can't believe that my daughter is going for her first job interview.. Wow I feel old and she tells me that all the time! LOL.

I am loving this Bisou Bisou floral skirt so much. The midi length skirt that can you adjust the length and you know how I am about getting more bang for your buck. I had seriously been stalking it about a month before I made the purchase. There was also a little Byrdie ( my sister)  in my family that was also lusting after this skirt. It's so funny I am on the phone with her and she proceeds to tell me about this super cute midi skirt from Jcpenney that she wanted... I am like I know exactly which skirt and I already got it..they are no more at the store. LOL.. Sisterly love you can't beat it!  I decided to keep it in the family and match it up with Bisou Bisou peplum top that I love so much . That is my " It's 80 degrees finally look" .

Now last but certainly not least I wanted to fill you in some healthy finds that I found to help me with this journey to get back on the weight loss wagon.

Fiber One - Caramel Sea Salt Bar- 90 cal and 2ww points
These have a great flavor gives you the sweet and salty taste which I love. These would be awesome warmed up with some cool whip.

Emerald Breakfast on the go Smores flavor- 200 calories 5ww points
These are delicious with the granola and cocoa almonds . I give this a double thumbs up. Would be great sprinkled on some yogurt.

Folgers Mocha Swirl Coffee - I love love this stuff . Tastes like a cupcake and add some sugar free creamer . ( I added sugar free vanilla caramel) I felt like I was seriously cheating . It get rid of the sweet craving which I need something that will do that quite often.

Now I weight in tomorrow at Weight Watchers. I was disappointed in my .8 weight loss last week and I am hopping for at least a 1lb this week. I tracked most days.. not everyday. I will do better next week . What healthy finds or tips do you have to share ? I would love to hear from you.

Orange Dream for a Pear

I have been living with this pear shaped body for 41 years . I guess I am exaggerating just a bit.I didn'tstart caring about the size of my behind until at least 5th grade. That was well before Jlo came along. Luckily I now appreciate my curves and have learned to dress them. If you are pear shaped than u understand the difficulty in finding something that skims across your hips perfectly and still fitting your waist. I actually saw this Nicole Miller dress online at Jcpenney . I could tell immediately that this dress would be good choice for my body type. They were actually sold out of my size. So I ended up finding in store when it was 50% off and I had $10 off coupon .I love the fabric its is thick enough to cover those lumps and bumps and thin enough to feel cool in the hot weather. I think this would be a perfect dress for Mother's day and it's my favorite color a definite no brainer for this girl.

Curlybyrdie and her Thrifty Finds

As soooo many of you know that follow my blog I just love to find some deals. Now when I say deals I don't mean just picking up anything . I mean actually finding things I love or have been wanting
since they were full price. My motto that I got from my Mama .. if it is meant to be it will be there!  Well that is exactly what happened when I found this Philip Lim dress from Target on the rack at Clothes Mentor Ft Wayne. This dress was just sitting there waiting for me with tags and all! You know I always have a story kind of like country music.. there is always a story. I remember when this dress came out as much as I loved it there was no way this frugal fashionista was paying $50 for this dress. So I moved on and low a behold I got this for $12 and really less than that I actually sold clothes when I was there.. so really I got it for free.

I just love this store I find all the quality brands at a fraction of the cost! It's a no brainer. I have given some examples of items that I have purchased in the past . These items total under a $100 before taxes. You can't beat that!
