My Way -Eshakti Review

I was recently contacted by Eshakti to pick out a dress and write a review about my experience.  I had never heard of this company previously but I was very intrigued when I looked at their website.  As many of you know I am a serious dress fanatic we all have our vices and honey dresses are mine. What I love about this site is you can pick a dress and customize the length , the sleeve style as well as the neckline. You kind of feel like a fashion designer . How many times have I found a dress and said this would perfect if it was a little longer or if it had sleeves. No need for wishing any longer you can get a dress with your desired specifications...how sweet is that? It took me a while to make up my mind but I saw this polka dot Chambray number and the rest was history. When I got the dress about a week later it was exactly what I had hoped for. If you haven't heard of Eshakti you definitely will be impressed.  They are currently offering 30% off on their site so today is a great time to get acquainted

5 things

On the way to work today I was listening to the radio and a caller called in saying how when she talked to her friends she was always negative and finally one of her friends said to her "Every time I talk to you are negative don't you have anything good in your life?" She refused to talk to her friend unless everyday she could tell her 5 things that are going right in her life.  The caller agreed to this and did it for a month and found out that it completely changed her life.  I related to this on so many levels when I talk to my friends I am always complaining about something instead of looking at the good things that in my life. How easy it is so lose site of all you blessings by reflecting on what is going wrong instead of what is going right.  So I told told my 13 year old son this morning we are going to do this every night . I want you to come home tonight and tell me 5 things that are going well in your life and Mommy will do the same.  Don't let anyone tell you who or what you are. The words that you speak to yourself are the most important ones that you hear.

My 5 Good Things about Today

1)I feel great!
2) Pumpkin Coffee is back at Dunkin Donuts! whomp whomp!
3) I had a great conversation with a frien
4) My daughter said she loved me today!
5) God has blessed us with a beautiful day

Change your mindset.. and change you life !

What are your 5 things?

Curvy and Curly Look

I seriously can't believe its Sunday all ready say it isn't so! I am not ready for that running around . Luckily I was able to get some rest and relaxation in.
My look was this super cute tshirt that I actually won on Instagram from Curvy Girls n Curls and Dynasmiles giveaway. What I love about this t shirt is it giving the message to embrace your body as well as your natural hair both were an issue for me growing up. I was self conscious about my big behind and big curly frizzy hair. Wearing this shirt is me saying" Hey this is me and I love me!"
I love women who embrace and encourage women to accept what makes you unique.  So ladies I am Curvy and Curly and I embrace them both! I decided to wear a black midi skirt to highlight the curves with my yellow wedges I picked up from Clothes Mentor here in Fort Wayne and Honey my Curvy n Curly look was born. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and remember to embrace everything that makes u the awesome person you are

Feeling Nautical

Whenever I wear navy and white I just feel so nautical.  I fell in love with this Jennifer Lopez skirt when I saw it at Kohl's. It is no secret that I love stripes and I own many black and white striped items but this combo was a great addition to my wardrobe. I decided to wear this with this red- orange top that I picked up some time ago at Kohl's.  Are you guys recognizing a pattern ? I love me some Kohl's lol.  I could totally see me transitioning this into fall with a navy top or a jacket. How are you fashionista's transitioning into the fall ? Please share your tips because I am all about that getting more bang for your buck life.

Dress Paradise at Carson's

Friday night 2 weeks ago.. my sister kept calling me . I remember looking at my phone saying what does she want I am trying to wash my hair. If you see how big my hair is than you understand what a chore this can be.  I finally answered my phone and she said she has something for me.. Now why didn't she say so before.. LOL. She got 4 dresses from Carson's 2 for me and 2 for her and only spend $10 out of her pocket.  I am not talking about some el cheapo dresses I am talking about Vince Camuto dresses and other name brands.  One of the dresses she got me was seriously reg $165.00 and it was on special for $14.97 and she had a coupon they had sent her spend $50 get $50 off.. now why in the heck didn't I get one of these coupons?  How nice was it that my little sis got me 2 dresses and she knew my exact style.. It just brings a tear to my eye.. I have raised her well.. LOL
This is one of the dresses that she picked I just love the colors the material is so nice and flowy I can totally see me adding a jacket to transition into the fall. This dress was normally $98.00 . I just love it and couldn't wait to wear it. Now that is what I call sisterly love!

Busy Weekend

It was such a busy weekend trying to get the kids ready to go back to school. I remember loving back to school time all those fresh new school supplies and brand new clothes but that was before I had to pay for them all.  I really didn't get alot of extra time to document my wardrobe changes this weekend.. time didn't allow nor did my energy level.

As the summer winds down I am really trying to wear all those summer dresses I haven't gotten a chance to wear. This dress is a find I purchased last season from +Macy's . I had been lusting over this dress and waited it out. I ended up scoring this dress for $10 . I can't even  begin to say how many compliments I got on this dress that I wore out shopping this weekend. I had a little girl probably about 10 say " Excuse me I love your pretty dress" Now when a child compliments you it's such a good feeling because you know it's genuine at least when they are that age. LOL.  I love the way the stripes flatter this pear shaped body and that is not easy when it comes to stripes and they are some of my favorite colors for the summer.  I decided to syle it with my Orange +Ora Delphine bag and my Guess bracelet that I scored from +Macy's as well.  Another summer look that is budget friendly brought to you by Curlybyrdie .. LOL..

Have a great Monday my fashionista's

Hello Gorgeous it's Frugal Friday

Hello Gorgeous it's Friday!  It couldn't have come soon enough. I have been extremely tired this week for some reason.  I am not sure if the cooler temperatures are making me want to sleep more or if I am just getting old ..lol! I wanted to highlight a look that was an extra great deal and to prove once again that style doesn't have to break the bank!  I scored this shirt last year at Old Navy for $6 first of all I am sucker for stripes and with " Hello Gorgeous " on the front I had to get it. So if no one has told you that you are gorgeous today I am telling you with this shirt! I love you and there is nothing you can do about that!
Every Friday I will highlight an entire look that cost under $40 and that includes shoes . So see breakdown of my look below.

More for Less

You guys know I am all about getting more for less so I decided to take this super cute jumpsuit that I picked up from +T.J.Maxx and style differently . I added my green peplum shirt I got from +JCPenney  a while back. I have this top in like 3 different colors and I have gotten so much wear out of them. So I converted this jumpsuit into some Palazzo pants and I just love the look. I have been inspired by so many other fashionista's out there and I get tips all the time. Sometimes it is more fun remixing your own closet than going out and buying new things.

What are you fashionsita's remixing in your closet? Please dish I would love to know.

Cooler Tempatures

These past few days have brought some cooler temperatures in Indiana.  The reality that summer is ending is becoming more real . I still have some cute summer dresses that I still haven't gotten the chance to wear so I have decided to start showing how to transition some of those summer /spring items into fall/ winter items . I will post a few transition looks a few times a week so stay tuned.
The 2 looks below are both transition looks. I decided to find fall type colors in a lighter fabric because it's still August after all. My first look is what I call casual but professional look. This polka dot top that I picked up from Clothes Mentor for $6 is fabulous. I love polka dots and I love the top with ties on them. I think the look so elegant so this top had to come home with me. I went in there to sell some clothes that I was not using and I always find something to bring home with me. I paired this with my Jessica Simpson jeans which are my favorite jeans I love the flared leg of these pants I feel like they help balance my pear shaped body.
My 2nd look is a cute little light weight sweater I picked up from +Marshall's . This dress was made by American Eagle. I got this at a steal of $16.99 . I love the gold that is weaved into the fabric it gives it a subtle bling . I decided to wear this with a hunter green statement necklace that I picked up from Clothes Mentor as well added my green denim jacket from +Kohl's and this is pre fall look of the day!

Ladies Who Brunch Indy

I had the pleasure of being asked to be a panelist at a awesome event Ladies Who Brunch Indy . It was a wonderful experience I met so many positive and professional women , that inspired me in so many ways.  These ladies where from different business segments and really inspired me with their wealth of knowledge and expertise. This was my first speaking engagement for my blog and I am not going to lie I was a little intimated but these ladies gave me a warm welcome and I felt totally at home.  I made many connections both personally and professionally. What I learned from this experience that we as women need to support other women.  We all have a story to tell and we can learn so much from listening to other women's story as well.  It was humbling to meet women that actually follow me on instagram and my blog that wanted to hear my story. I will never forget this awesome experience that I was blessed to be a part of.
Now I had to be true to myself when I decided what to wear I made sure that is was totally a look totally on a budget!  Please see details below

Simplicity is Good

There are moments when I like bright and bold , making a statement with bright colors or big accessories. I opted for a more relaxed look with this simple denim dress that I picked up at +Old Navy last year for $4 . I love shopping their clearance rack you never know what you might find. In this instance I found a classic jean dress that can be styled so many different ways and I am all about getting more bang for my buck in this case my 4 bucks!  I added my studded Material Girl sandals I got last year from +Macy's  at the end of the season. If you are looking for sandals shopping their clearance racks this time of the year is the way to go. You will never believe the deals you find. My accessories matched my +Ora Delphine bag perfectly to top off this simple look. Now if you haven't heard of Ora Delphine these are nice quality bags that have a classic look . I have 3 of them and get compliments every time I carry mine. Watch for them on +Good Morning America deals and steals I have saved up to 80% .
What are your go to items for a relaxed simple look? What stores are you loving this time of year for end of the season sales?
Have an awesome day Lovelies!

Gorgeous Sunday

After a rainy Friday and Saturday it is so nice to see the sun out. I really was in the mood to get out and about and wear something pretty. You can't get much prettier than lace so I decided to wear this darling skirt from +H&M   I styled this with my periwinkle top and shoes that I scored on two separate occaisons at Clothes Mentor here in Fort Wayne.  The top is Banana Republic and the shoes are Lauren Conrad and decided to give it a little pop of pink with this cute little clutch from +Kohl's . I feel like such a girly girl in this.
It was great day to be out with my baby girl so naturally we did what girls do and that is shop. We went to my favorite Sunday stop Clothes Mentor because it was double punch Sunday of course.  Now if you don't know what double punch Sunday is I will fill you in . You can get a key chain for $1 and for every $10 you spend you get a punch ,once the keychain is full you get a free $10 to spend. How awesome is that?
I also had the pleasure of meeting one of my oldest friends , my hairstylist and mentor. It was nice catching up and bouncing some ideas off  of her. We all need friends like that.
I hope you are having a wonderful Sunday . I can hear Monday knocking on the door once again.
