October Favorites

We are at at the end of October can you believe it?  This year seems to be flying by so quick before I know it Christmas will be here and I am not ready at all.  Although I have two practically grown babies so money and gift cards are at the top of their Christmas list.  

So let me recap my October favs and explanation as to why and of course links to the looks or similar options. 

                                                           Velvet Love

There is no secret that I am loving the velvet trend. This velvet style choker dress and then adding the velvet moto jacket made me instantly fall in love with this look.  Let me tell you this jacket is so luxe and soft it will set off any look.

On the weekends I just love pieces that I can throw on to run out the door. This super cute cold shoulder jumpsuit is that one and done item that you dress up or dress down with a cute little sneaker making it look like you really tried. LOL  This is in heavy rotation and I think I just might need the other color also :)

This color combo has really captured my heart. I just love these shades in the same color family giving me that dark and light effect. It's really striking to me and we all need that statement but classic sweater dress and that is exactly what this Eva Mendes dress is.

I love everything about this dress classic black and white but a sexy mermaid shape and it was only $15 which makes it even better . I decided to add a black pump that laces up which gives it some ummph. The next time I wear this I will add a pop of color perhaps with a jacket or a clutch.

One of my favorite colors is hot pink and would normally wear this mostly in the summer but age and wisdom again make me realize that you wear what you like whenever. I absolutely love this Gabriel Union jumpsuit it was perfect for the fundraiser event that I attended and worked well for this pear-shaped body which can be a real struggle when shopping for a jumpsuit.    

                                                 For The Love of Pearls

The pearl trend has me all in. I love the feminine flair of these jeans and can be styled so ways and a reasonable price which I am all about. I added these amazing gold pumps from Shoe Dazzle to the equation. I will definitely be rocking these jeans these a lot.

Another bright look for the fall season loving this yellow sweater dress blue trench more amazing items from the Gabriel Union line at  New York and Company line.  Love the contrast and the brocade pump adds even more of a pop.

I can remember when the velour jogging suits were all the rage. Everyone was rocking juicy couture and dabbled in it a little but this little number for JCPenney is amazing.  It has a modern take on the velour jogging suit and I'm here for it. Its so comfy and I love athleisure vibes it is giving me. I mean my sisters, mom, and friends have all purchased this will be a goto on my weekend excursions! 

And there you have it my October Favorites! I am looking forward to adding more layers in November I  mean it's really starting to get cold in Indiana!

Say Yes to The Sweater Dress!

It has certainly been a very mild fall in Indiana this year. So much so that is was preventing this fashionista from wearing all her fall favorites and this my most loved season for fashion so I have been a little bummed out.  I know I will be wishing for the unseasonably warm weather in a few weeks but right now I am going to enjoying the cooler temps with all my fall fashion favorites. 

 For me, fall weather is all about sweaters or should I say sweater dresses?  If you have visited my blog before then you know this girl is all about the dress life and sweater dresses are at the top of my fall fashion wishlist. 

I love a classic piece like this burgundy  Eva Mendes sweater dress that has a modern twist like these balloon type sleeves that gives it a little edge. 

Adding a bootie in that same color family gives it a modern and sophisticated look. I love a great bootie like this  Patton from Just Fab (here)

A classic turtleneck sweater dress is a must for every girl. I look sleek and sophisticated you can style it so many ways and that is what we need multifunctional items that make our wardrobe look bigger! 

      Some of my favorite Sweater dresses all under $50 a great way to stay cozy but still cute!

Feeling Fab at 45

Well, another birthday has gone and snuck up on me again! I turned 45 yesterday, so I am officially midway through the fabulous 40's.  I know some people hate the thought of getting older but I am honestly just thankful that God has gifted me with another year of life.  I know sometimes that complain and just forget how lucky I am.  


I have learned that age is just a number and you are never too old to follow your dreams surround yourself with people who encourage and inspire you. 

I wanted these photos to be different. I wanted vibrant color and casual style I am usually known for wearing dresses but this girl loves a great sweatsuit on the weekend also.  

                         
When I saw this gorgeous mural on IG and found it is actually right here in Fort Wayne I just had to find out where it was located so I could photograph in front of it. I love the vibrant colors and this piece really inspires me. It's funny how you can live in a city and you discover new and amazing things every day.  You can follow this amazing artist Theoplis Smith on IG Phresh Laundry and this amazing piece is displayed at the Wunderkammer Company where they are impacting our community with the arts. 

I made a statement in my one of my other posts that my 45th year would be all about me living my life in color and I thought this location would really reflect that.  As you get older you get bolder and are looking for ways to express yourself and go after what you want and I feel like that is exactly where I am in my life.  As my great friend, Lynette Rogers always say " Fear is the biggest dream killer".  Fear has no place in my life moving forward. I will replace fear with being fearless even if I have to fake it till I make it. LOL 

 Now about the outfit let me tell you this velour type sweatsuit had me at hello. The color is beautiful and it's so comfortable.  I love the fact that I don't have to compromise comfort for style.  I can remember when I lived in velour jumpsuits I just feel like this a modern take on that trend and I am absolutely loving it.  Loving this so much I had to purchase in black also!

Revisiting my Favorite Fall Trends

Well here we are in mid-October or should I say deep in Pumpkin spice season. If you didn't know I am all about that PSL life and the fact that I am on the countdown to my birthday in a little over a week!  This is my favorite time for fashion and the layers and gorgeous deep hues just make this girl on so happy!  Instead of me talking about all the new trends I want to try this year I want to talk about my favorites from last year that I am bringing back this year. 

                                                         Faux Leather 

I am such a fan of faux leather it can be edgy or very chic and classy.  I will certainly rock this gorgeous skirt  from my favorite boutique not only is vegan leather but has faux fur on it as well so two trends for the price of one it can't much better than that! 

                                                              Military Jacket 

                                       
I am just obsessed with the military jacket. It gives me a classic and polished feel I just love the structure. It can add a class and sophistication to any look.  This gorgeous olive and gold jacket hs me at hello the very first time I laid eyes on it. 

                                                            OTK Boots  This girl loves her some OTK boots they are so on trend sexy but depending on the style you can still keep it classy. I love this shade of burgundy and feel that every girl needs at least one pair in her shoe collection.

                                                         Olive Green 

One of my favorite fall colors is Olive green I feel like its the perfect shade that can start the transition into fall.  I love it with gold in the warmer months than love adding animal print or Cognac to give it that added pop. It is neutral that can be worn so many ways. 

                                                       Colorblock 

I simply adore this amazing color block coat and you best believe I will be rocking it in 2017. The vibrant color palette is amazing and it is a great focal point for any look.

Living my Life in Color

As we are beginning a new month actually my favorite month October because if you didn't know we are the midst of Libra season and this girl celebrates her birthday all month long. LOL.  I thought the perfect way to start off this celebratory month would be me bringing bright and bold and this look from the Gabriel Union line from New York and Company is all of that.

I  can hardly believe that I will be turning 45 this month.  It sounds weird to say that I am in my mid 40's but like they say age is only a number but the higher the numbers get the more and more I reflect on my life and the urgency of living my best life becomes greater. 

The Gabriel Union collection at NY and Company just exudes sexiness and confidence. I love the bold color and on high fashion feeling, it's giving me.  I normally stick to my typical fall colors this time of the year but honey this collection has shown me don't limit yourself be bold and live your life in color all year around. 

The trench coat is simply amazing and can definitely see this becoming a piece that will use all year round and the focal piece of many of my looks. 

I knew when this dress came out that this bright piece of sunshine would have to be mine.  This sweater dress is such quality that will not lose shape after wearing.  The details on this dress make it so flattering on all body types.  

I wanted to stay true to the bold and colorful vibe of this look and I thought the perfect shoe for this look would be Scarlet Pump from Just Fab.  

I absolutely love how this look it gives me all kind of" Being Mary Jane " vibes.  It just says bold, confident and I am in charge of my own life.  

I am so excited that the Eva Mendes and now the Gabriel Union both have amazing lines at  New York and Company and I admire both of their styles.  There is a look for every side of my fashionista personality.  New York and Company thanks for always keeping it fresh and new! Love it!
