The Fab 40's Keeping it Stylish while Staying Warm

The Fab40s' are back bringing you another fantastic theme for the month. Now in case, this is your first time here the " Fab40's " are a group of International bloggers that come together once a month and create our own unique interpretation of a particular theme.  This month the theme "   Staying stylish while staying warm " which I think is perfect this time of the year.

Living in Indiana the struggle is real it gets quite cold in the winter and you want to stay cute and not freeze your behind off at the same time!  Let's see how we do it!

The key to keeping warm in the midwest during the cold winter months is layering.  I decided to take a more casual approach to the theme by rocking my overalls.  I added a classic turtleneck and layered with my leopard print coat and topped it off with a fur stole which I have had a mild obsession all season.  This is a look that I would definitely rock over the weekend for a street-chic look.

I kept the bootie more casual but sexy with the chunky heel and not only are they cute they are actually very comfy.

Loving this color block crossbody a piece that I could rock in so many ways making the $8 deal that I got on it even better :)

Now it's time to see how the other Fab 40's are staying warm and stylish!

                                             Sheela from Sheela Writes

Let me tell you Sheela always brings it every month and this one is no exception. I love everything about this look the sexy velvet boots with that gorgeous jacket takes this look to another level! She looks like she was born to attend NWFW she fits in nicely!  You go, girl!

Ann - Kremb de la Kremb

It looks as if Ann likes to keep warm with layers just like I do. Ann's look is so lively and fun and how we need that in these colder temps and dreary days!  I love that Ann incorporates so many trends in one look!  Colorful and cute my dear!

Jennie - A Pocketful of Polka Dots

Jennie and Ann are giving me quite a case of coat envy. I need an animal print fur coat in my life. I love that Jennie keeps her black dress simple and adds all these exciting elements to this look.  She is giving me straight movie star vibes in this look.  The patterned tights are the perfect way to finish off this amazing look!

                                                      Suzy Turner

I am so excited that Suzy is a new permanent member of the Fab 40's. Now speaking of coat envy this coat is so cute and love how she picked up the red with her glasses and scarf. I love the classic yet fun look that Suzy is bringing!

Ashley - Fancy Stuff and Pretty Things

So happy to have guest blogger Ashley here. I have totally been wanting some red booties and low behold Ashley has found the perfect ones. I love how she added a pop of red to this look it just gives some extra ummph this classic chic look!

Well another great month with the Fab 40's and I am so looking foward to next month when I get to pick the theme! Oh what fun I can't wait.

Stripes on Stripes

Hello, my Lovelies!  It's been a while since I have posted and I have missed you dearly. You know life just happens sometimes and you have to focus on certain things in your life and that is exactly what I have been doing but I am happy to be back talking about things I love! :)  It reminds me of that Mary J Blige song " Family Affair" when she says let's get crunk cause Mary's back! LOL

What better reason to come back to talk about the new spring Gabrielle Union line at New York and Company.  Whenever I browse on New York and Company online or in the store I like to see what new items Gabrielle has dropped. I knew the moment I saw this sweater dress in the green color I had to have it in my life but I wasn't really sure about adding the duster to the mix but I am very happy with the outcome!  The quality of these pieces are amazing so much so I think I might need the black and white version of this dress also ;)

I decided to add the corset belt that I picked up from New York and Company a while ago just to give it a bit of edge.

What I love about this ensemble is that I can totally wear this to work and then remove the duster for dinner and drinks after work.  I like easy pieces that can be used for various occasions it just makes life easier.

This duster will be something that I rock all year round it would look amazing with jeans and some over the knee boots the possibilities are really endless!

I love when I see Gabriel rock her own pieces it just lets me know that these are pieces that she actually enjoys wearing and she even features some her pieces on my favorite show " Being Mary Jane".  I can honestly say that her line and the Eva Mendes is what I tend to look at first when I go to New York and Company.

What about you Fashionistas? Are you a fan of the Gabriel Union line at New York and Company?  You can scroll down for photos with links to all these pieces below are similar options!

As always I want to thank you for stopping by I have missed you guys and sharing all my fabulous finds!  Have a wonderful rest of the week and I will see you soon :)

Bold Colors and Peace

As we begin the second month of 2018 I have to ask myself am I keeping up with all the promises that I made myself you know before the new year? The answer would be a big fat no!   I did say that I was not going to make any resolutions I would just give my year a theme word and the word I chose was
" Peace".  What that means is that I would not entertain anything in my life that didn't bring me peace!  Well, it's been a struggle but I really trying to do better.    Now as we begin a new month I luckily have time to reset and re-evaluate.

I just love bright and bold colors I feel like they give me that confidence that I lack at times. Especially when I am going through moments of uncertainty or doubt.

I just love velour I think it started back in times when those juicy couture jogging suits were all the rage. Now, this girl didn't own juicy I think mine might have been buicy the cheaper knockoff! But it was till cute though.

This jacket from the Tracee Ellis Ross collection seemed like the perfect match to this fabulous jumpsuit!  I just love her collection I am keeping my fingers crossed that maybe she will come through with a spring line!

I thought I would add a pop of pink with the shoes to make this look even more colorful and fun.  I think the styling the pieces gives it a sophisticated vibe as well.

I have been trying to shop my closet more this year reinventing things for me that is when the real creativity happens. I am going to do my best to stick to that principle for me that is something that will bring more " Peace " in my life and to my bank account! LOL

Jumpsuit (sim), Kimono (here),  Bag (sim), Shoes (sim)

Well, I would like to thank you for stopping by and remember don't allow anything in your life that doesn't bring you peace! Believe me, I am definitely a work in progress.
