Feeling Chic in the City

As you know this chica has a thing for clothes!  So it really takes something pretty spectacular to get me excited and willing to purchase it before it goes on sale I mean this hardly ever happens, but when  I saw this amazing plaid jumpsuit from the Gabrielle Union line on the day it came out I knew this was going to be an add to the cart moment! LOL

I am all about fit and quality and this jumpsuit really fits the bill. A quality fabric with just a slight stretch which is great for a pear-shaped girl like myself.  The struggle is always real when searching for a jumpsuit making sure it fits on the top and the bottom.

I knew I needed some pretty fabulous shoes to go with this jumpsuit and the moment I saw these Christian Siriano shooties from Payless I just knew they were the ones!  What I love about this line is that I am getting all the latest trends for amazing prices and that is right up this bargain shoppers alley.

This look makes this 45-year-old Mama feel sexy and on trend and comfortable in my own skin and that is exactly the way you want to feel when you walk out the door.

Believe it or not these photos were taking in 95-degree weather or you probably can tell by the state of my hair and makeup but despite all that, my photographer did a great job. These photos were taken downtown in my city Fort Wayne so many cool locations in this Midwest town.

You can shop this look below also some other favs from the Gabrielle Union Collection as well as the Christian Siriano line. So happy shopping :)

The Fab Five Fashionista's #ALLTOGETHERNOW -T-Shirt Edition

Hello, Lovelies!  My Fashionista sisters are back with yet another collaboration!  Once again we are highlighting one of our favorite stores New York and Company and the amazing Gabrielle Union collection. This time we decided to style one piece 5 ways!  We agreed on this super cute t-shirt which really sums up our sister mentality # ALLTOGETHERNOW. Because when women come together amazing things happen.   So glad we connected on Instagram and our love of fashion and have become so much more than IG followers we are now connected by friendship. If you follow Gabrielle Union on IG you know she is all about that sister circle!

                             Skirt/(here) Tee/(here) Sunnies /(sim) Boots /(sim)

I love the style of this tee it has the tie front which you can't see in this picture but it gives you the amazing option of styling it various ways and I am all about that life. What I love the most is the message it has on it, #ALLTOGETHERNOW. With all of the things that we as women have to face in life we should stand together, support each other and understand that we are not in a competition we  should celebrate each other

With me being such a lover of dresses and skirt I decided to add this amazing skirt to the equation. Let me tell you this skirt is so cute but also such great quality. I knew this was a piece that I had to add to my skirt collection. I love how flattering the stripes are to your figure and let me tell you, ladies, this girl has some hips!

Although I love the classic vibes that a black and white ensemble gives me I love to add some flavor with a pop of color and in this case, I chose red.   The funny thing about these red booties I literally stalked this at my local Target I think they started off at $40 and I wanted and waited as was able to score the red and hot pink for like $11 Yass! It was the end of the season but you see your girl has them on now! LOL

Now it's time to see how my Fashionista sisters styled their tee!

Ayesha from Emanees Closet is showing her edgy and sexy side styling this shirt with a cute pair of jeans and this amazing boots that are giving me so much life! It would be safe to say that this girl has an amazing collection of shoes, Loving it Ayesha!

Yolanda from Curly Petite Renee who also decided to style her tee with jeans and Gabrielle jeans at that! I love the colorful bag and adding those shooties to the mix that are giving me fall feels! I love that how Yolanda always has the perfect accessories for every look! Get it, girl, you look hawt!

Reyni with Curls and High Heels is a dress girl just like me so I was not a bit surprised she chose a skirt and it was a skirt she wanted from the moment she saw it.  Her skirt is from the Eva Mendes line also at New York and Company. I just love how Reyni looks like she owns all of her looks and adding some pop of pink with the vest and amazing bag! Gorgeous darling!

Lydia from Chic Street Style Mom is giving us sleek and sexy with the blue version of the Gabriel union which is just an amazing color! Looks like we are twinning this time Lydia! You know what they say great minds think alike.  I  love the accessories down to the sunglasses that go perfectly! Love this look beauty!

Well another great collaboration with some pretty amazing women and in the spirit of the theme of this post #ALLTOGETHERNOW  I would like to leave you with this amazing quote from our beautiful  former  First Lady

"  As women, we must stand up for each other "

                                                                                        Michelle Obama

As always I want to thank you for stopping by it means so much to me!

All about Olive

Hello, Lovelies! It's been a while since my last post it's been a crazy couple of weeks with my daughter leaving for Cali and my son going back to school so this has been one busy Mama!  The summer has just flown by and I am already thinking about fall fashion.

One of the ways that I start to transition my wardrobe into my favorite season starts with color. I shift my wardrobe to more neutrals and a darker color pallet.  Olive green is one of those shades that give you that fall feeling and I am here for it.

This shirt dress is one that you can wear now with sandals or take into the cooler weather simply by adding some booties like I did here.

I have a thing for classic pieces with some detail so when I saw this shirt dress from the Who What Wear line at Target with these fabulous sleeves I knew that this was a shirt dress that I need to add to my collection.

These snakeskin booties are some oldies but goodies that add the right amount of contrast to this look and finishing off this look with this amazing circular bag also Target find.  I am just now realizing that almost everything in this is look is from Target. I guess you can probably tell this girl has quite the obsession with Target I mean really who doesn't?

                                                       The Jumpsuit

I spotted this linen jumpsuit on the clearance rack at Target and it was under $20 (yes Target again) I thought this would be a perfect piece that I could style various ways for now and the fall.

!

I added another animal printed shoe to this look yes this girl has a thing for all things animal print. I just love the way that leopard looks with Olive green. If you don't own leopard pumps you must add some to your fall shoe collection.  I actually found these pumps at my local Goodwill for only $4. I can't believe the things I find thrifting.

The light linen fabric that could easily be layered with a denim jacket or longline cardigan for those cool fall days.

You can shop both these looks or similar options below.

How are you transitioning your wardrobe into fall?

As always I would like to thank you for stopping by it means so much to me!

My August Wishlist - New York and Company

Well, Hello August! Here we are again almost time for the kiddies to head back to school. Yes, I still call them "kiddies" even though my son is taller than me and getting ready to be a senior and my daughter is entering her junior year in college! Still my babies at least in my mind! LOL

As we get ready for cooler temps I thought I would start with my pre-fall wishlist since I am noticing so many amazing items that I am loving right now!  These items will be from one of my favorite stores New York and Company. I love their fashion-forward selection and also keeping it real they always have the bomb sales! So shall we get started?

My Favorites

Skirt (here)/Top(here)

This was actually the first items that I spotted from the new Eva Mendes and I can honestly say that I have loved everything that I have seen in this current collection. This release to me says classic but still modern with a little bit of sexy! The quality is amazing and perfect for late summer taking you right into fall!

If orange is not your color than they even have this look in a blue pattern!

Dress (here)

Totally orange crushing on this beautiful sweater dress which is also from the Eva Line! I love everything about this dress the pattern, the color and the cute!  Perfect to transition into the fall!

Blouse (here)/ Skirt (here)

Let me tell you I have a long time love with denim skirts and the shape of this one is so on trend and sexy. This is a piece that we will wear over and over again and the blouse is just amazing that pattern is everything with the balloon type sleeves!

Jumpsuit (here)

Floral Version (here)

Now I am finally changing color schemes but a new theme polka dots! LOL, I am a polka dot girl and also a jumpsuit girl so this baby is a no-brainer. This is also from the Eva line do you recognize a pattern here? I love me some Eva! The boldness of the polka dots and I have a jumpsuit in a different pattern that is made just like this so I know it's a good fit for me. I could totally see me rocking this with blazer maybe give it a little pop of color!

Polka Dot Pants (here

Staying with the polka dot theme not really on wishlist because I actually just purchased these for a blogger meet up in Fort Wayne! I mean you need something fabulous when you are meeting other fashionistas! These pants are so fun fashion forward and the fit is amazing.

Polka Dot dress (here)

Now, this is my last polka dot one I promise but I this yellow dress is so pretty. I love wearing yellow I remember when I was little someone told me I didn't look good in it and I think the same person told me I didn't look good in orange either and now they are two of my favorite colors to wear. The moral of the story is wear what makes you happy and yellow and orange makes this girl so happy! Now back to the dress I would totally see me rocking this for the fall months adding some sunshine to those cooler days and if yellow isn't your thing it does come in black and white.
This would look amazing with a blazer or denim jacket!

Tunic (here)

This gorgeous blush cold should tunic is a statement piece that I need in my wardrobe the jeans give it a more casual vibe but I would also style with black pants or a tank dress to dress it up a little! Such a fabulous piece! Yes, come through New York and Company.

Dress (here)

This Gabriel Union navy and white kimono dress was the hottest dress for the summer and it sold out quick now they have it in tan and white and also black and white.  This classy and stylish dress makes a definite statement as soon as you walk in the room.

Shirt Dress (here)

Last but certainly not least this gorgeous olive shirt dress from the Gabriel Union line. This classic and flattering dress originally came in white an darker green but this olive is a perfect piece to take right into the fall.  You could wear it as a dress or open with jeans as a duster. How cute would this look with jeans and cognac boots ... this one is on my wishlist for sure!
