3 times a Lady!

I  love a simple piece that I recycle into a different look with just a few accessory changes or shoe changes.Than I feel like I am getting more bang for my buck because I am major cheap.. In a good frugal way ! LOL. I love the color of this dress kind of pink coral . I am obsessed with this color right now. I love the way the mint green necklace just pops with this dress. I feel like a pretty piece of candy . I decided to give it a little uummph by adding animal print belt and shoes. The final look was just added a scarf that I had to give it a little bit more feminine look.

The peplum dress ($18) the pumps($21) the necklace($9) all Apt 9 at Kohls. The scarf is JLO ($2) @Kohls also. The animal print booties are Style and co($20) at Macys. I hope u ladies are having a terrific Tuesday!

Weekend Fun!

What a great weekend! I got to enjoy some time at our food truck festival which turned out to be pretty awesome.. some great food and music and quality time with family. Of course I took advantage of being downtown as an opportunity for an impromptu photo shoot.. and who is the lucky person that takes all these pictures? That would be my 15yr old daughter..aka author , artist and now a photographer. This blog thing has really brought us closer together and for that I am very thankful! I will give a peak of the face behind the camera... with her own unique style as well.

My look below is simple but I loved this dress .. What appears to be just a little black dress has a cut out back that makes it unique. I love the fact it's cut out is perfect to wear a strapless bra.. cuz there is no way this 40 yr old mama can go braless! Those days are long gone..LOL.  The dress was another steel at Jcpenny for bargin price of $7. The shoes were from the great Tarjay( Target) for $9 the bangle bracelet is JLO from Kohls and that was $7 . All items on clearance and perfect for a festival with the family.

My daughters dress is from H&M and it has little skulls on it ( I guess that's the style) this was $5 she paired this with her Chuck Taylors.

Southern Belle

 I love how feminine this dress is.. I feel like such a southern belle like I am about to sit a spell on the porch and sip on a mint julep/... Lol ! I found this dress at TJ Max on the clearance rack for $10(Macys had this same dress for $25). It didn't look like much on the hanger but once I put it on I was sold. Sometimes I am pleasantly surprised when trying something on and this was one of those times. I kept the accessories simple and the shoes are Jessica Simpson that I got at Macys for $20 last year.

Dot to Dot

Polka dots are so classic to me ! I felt like such a girly girl in this little number. When I go to the gas station and a little boy says "Hey you r pretty!"  Than I know I got the right dress on!  I got this at a nice price of $19 at Von Maur.  The shoes are so comfortable that I forget Im wearing heels they are Apt 9 at Kohls and the necklace was Jlo from Kohls . As your ladies can tell I love me some Kohls. ....... Btw ladies just FYI ..Wed is markdown day at Von Maur and if they don't have your size they will have it shipped to store for free from another location . I just love their superb customer service..

Stripes for Days!

I know a lot of women have a thing for shoes..but my weakness are dresses Maxi dresses, sun dresses , sheath dresses.. you name I love it..  Don't get me wrong I love me some shoes but something about putting on a dress that makes me feel so feminine and sexy. My favorite dresses has to be summer dresses I love the bright colors and the light fabric.. I love sitting on someone's patio just drinking a cocktail all dolled up in a cute little dress. So most of my post will most likely be of dresses but I will mix it up with some pants once in a while .. I promise.   My Ootd today is still going with the $30 or under theme.  This dress is by Liz Claiborne from Jcpenny. This dress was steel at only $12 what I like about dress this is a perfect transition dress to the fall just by throwing on a blazer and tights. I added a pop of pink with my necklace - by Apt $9 ( Kohls) . The shoes are by Steve Madden this were must have at $7 ( Marshalls) at the end of last season. My Cheerful Look

Most people hate Mondays but for me it has to be Tuesdays. I think everyone finally wakes up after the weekend and decide they need some parts. The look Im posting is a fun bright look. When I saw this dress hanging at JCPennny I wasn't sure I would like it this much. The added bonus it was only $9. I like the fact that it has a little cut out in the back! I almost felt like Beyoncé on vacation when I paired it with my gold gladiator sandles(Kohls $18) minus the money,singing talent and Blue Ivy of course. I wore this out and about this weekend and got many compliments . Ladies if you are looking for some good deals shop the clearance racks at Jcpenny and they have a coupon going on starting today!  That's my kind of sale.

Yellow Byrdie !

I was so excited about this $5 find at H & M untill I showed it to my sister and she said it looked like the color of stomach acid...so I added a green statement necklace from goto Kohls $9 and I made that so called stomach acid pop!  So take that lil sis ;) 

Bright Beautiful Sunday

I don't know about you but I love a deal.  Not only do I love finding a deal I love sharing my finds with my friends and family members ...heck I like telling the lady at the grocery checkout that I got this dress for $10.  I think its important for women to feel beautiful and show them that don't need to spend a lot of money to feel attractive.  So this week I decided that I would post a look everyday this week all $30 or less. Today's look ...the skirt by Nicole Miller JC Pennny $9 , the top Worthington JCP also $6 , necklace and earrings $8 Apt 9 at Kohls.   The shoes are actually from last year Elle at Kohls. We all deserve to feel like a diva and we can at every price point!

Work look on a Hot Thursday

I have discovered I love shopping my closet. Coming up with new combinations and using my creativity . I am a confessed shop a holic .  I have been inspired by other peoples blogs and instagrams that it's really alot of fun by being creative with what you have and much more cost effective. I really thought I was doing something today and than my teenage daughter ask me " Why is your skirt so tight" got to love those teenagers.. Who says you have to be frumpy at 40? Who says that you can't look cute on the cheap. I am all about those deals.. u better ask somebody.. My look today  a real bargin!  The skirt is from Sears another Kardashian Kollection piece ( maybe that's why its so tight) this was a steal at $10 and who doesn't need a black pencil skirt. The peplum top was Elle from Kohls at $6 couldn't pass that one up, necklace(Apt 9) was also from Kohls ( as you can tell I love me some Kohls) they didn't make me an MVC customer for nothing! I finished the look off  with Nine West Shoes that I got end of the season last year from Macys.

My First Blog.. Go Easy

Hi my name is Mary and this is my first blog post. I keep saying over and over again that I need to start a blog. Well today is the day or should I say tonight is the night. Let me start I am a fab and forty and a single mom.. that loves fashion  a curly hair product junkie!  You will not see me posting pictures of me in Gucci , Prada..any of those brands because I am just a regular Mama that likes to feel pretty and I am to broke for all of that! Just keeping it real. I love shopping the markdown racks..and love bragging about my finds. I plan to share my latest finds, review product and also discuss fitness and health. All the things us girls like talking about!!!

Btw I had these pics taken to celebrate turning 40 and losing 40lbs.., and you know I have to brag about the deal..The dress is from the Kardashian Kollection at Sears darling. I loved this dress when it first came out but with me being the bargain Mama I am ... I waited until it went down. I know you run the risk of it being gone.. but like my mama always said.. if it's not there it's not meant to be. So I guess this one was meant for me.  I got this baby for $23 reg $100.. I hope my first post was ok. I promise it will get better.
