Just a little Plaid

I bought this plaid shirt for my son to wear on Mothers day.. and when I told him to wear it for picture day he informed me that it was so small.. and sure enough the arms were like high waters! LOL.. This boy wore size 7 in gym shoes last year at this time and he is now in a 10.  My baby boy is growing up... Instead of me getting rid of this shirt I thought.. I love colors in this shirt I am going to wear this myself. Well my 15 year old daughter had the same idea and decided she was wearing it to school. Now that is was what I call multi use!  To think I got this at Kohls on the clearance rack for like $8.. That is truly getting your money's worth. I immediately thought of this shirt when I read  The Fashionista Next Door  Style Me Friday challenge.. I love her blog and have been wanting to participate for a while.. so here is to new things. Fashion Remixing

I love this skirt.. this was one of those steals from H&M for like $10 .  Have I mentioned how much I am loving H&M right now. I can find my teenage daughter and myself such on trend pieces for a reasonable price. I wore this skirt a while ago and decided to remix it with my faux leather jacket and this ultra feminine top I got from... yea you guessed it H&M.. lol . I love the camo type colors of this skirt but has the cheetah pattern.. I decided to mix it with this wrap around Cheetah watch . I hope all my fellow fashionistas are having a terrific Tuesday.

Maxi Type Monday

Every Monday I am always asking myself where did the weekend go? I had a great weekend filled with a little fun and some football. Good news my son's football season is officially over and the ended the season winning the championship! Now we move on to Basketball.  It doesn't stop  for parents when you have kids in sports..lol.  At least we get to take it inside now..

My look today was simple but I love the color scheme. I love olive green,black and grey so fall! I got this skirt from Jcpennys which seems to be my goto store lately. A Plum of a Day

It sure was a cold day in Indiana but the show must go on!  The chilly weather didn't stop me from getting some pics taken in this little blazer. Now either I love you guys or I am just insane lol. Increasing in Value

I saw this quote on Instagram . " I am not getting old I am increasing in value!'  It's a cute quote and made me laugh so I posted it. Than I started to reflect on those words and how true they really are.  As each year goes by you increase in knowledge... You have more experiance in life and lessons that have been learned. Like my sweet Mama always says " If you learned something from a relationship it was not a waste of time" What a wise woman she is.. I sure hope some of that wisdom rubbed off on me.  Today I am turning 41 I used to be afraid of the 40's but now I realize that I am blessed to have lived this long in relatively good health.  Life is what you make it.. 41 is what you make it. You just ask my 91 year old Granny.. I swear that woman still gets around better than some 50 year olds.

Curly found a Birdie!

What an awesome fall day today. I love the beautiful leaves changing colors its so pretty in Indiana this time of year.  I felt my look today is definitely fall inspired. When I saw this birdie sweater it was a no brainer I had to have it ( Curly Byrdie) I know this was pure guinness. .lol. Luckily I had these jeans that matched perfectly. Scary Saturday

Today was Fort Wayne's annual Zombie walk and it was actually my first time. I am not sure who was more excited my sister or the kids. It was pretty chilly outside but ended up being alot of fun . I guess I can check this off my bucket list . I hope u guys are having a wonderful Saturday :)

Casual Friday in Indiana

I am overjoyed that it is Friday and it's the weekend before my birthday!Last year I turned the big 40 and made a deal of it.. this year I just wanted to do things low key... a romantic dinner with my sweetie and some quality time with my kids.. which I guess would be a Zombie walk according to
them. So now that I am no longer 40 and I am in my forties. I thought I would feel differently .. I thought I would be on of those women that would lie about her age .. and stay 39 forever or for at least for 10 years. I am happy to be 41 .. I am thankful that I get to see this age.. I am getting like my Grandmother who just turned 91.. She always says " They can't believe I'm 90 years old" ! She says this daily... everyday.. LOL.. She still swears she is the prettiest thing out there... I love that about her! I love her spunk, her sense of humor and confidence.. I only hope first of all I live that long.. and have all those qualities! 

I was leery about getting this leather look skirt I wrestled with the idea of me being to old to rock this.... after much debating I said what the heck.. I am about to do this and do it with confidence.. just like my Granny!

Stripes on a Cool Day

What happened to that 70 plus weather in Indiana? It is cold as crap today.. luckily my daughter and I were smart enough to put some tights on.  I am so thankful that my son's football season is almost over ( between me and you) .. I don't get alot of enjoyment freezing my butt off in the stands :) My look today is a dress that I got to wear for my 40th bday last year and I paired it with this denim jacket that I scored at the goodwill for $4( Woot woot). I was able to convince my Mom to buy this Jones of New York denim jacket for $4 and if you know my Mom that took some convincing.. I'm trying to broaden her fashion horizons.. make her come out the box a little.. next stop animal print!  As most of you know I love stripes I love the color combo of these stripes the camel , grey and black make a versatile piece that can be used many ways. I hope all you fashionistas are keeping warm with this transitional weather.. and to all of those fashionistas that have beautiful weather all year around.. know that I am jealous as heck! Black and White with a Splash of Wine

Happy Tuesday !  Yes it's only Tuesday sorry if I reminded anyone that was maybe thinking that it was Wednesday already. This fall weather in Indiana has really been quite delightful for the most part. Now according to the weather man that will not be lasting to much longer.. so I enjoy it while I can.  I have had this dress in my closet for about a year and have worn it twice so I thought this dress is way to cute to be sitting in my back of the closet.. No one puts Baby in the back.. oh sorry I just had a Dirty Dancing flashblack.  Well all of that changed when I got these cute shoes at Charlotte Russe this past weekend for a bargin price I might add.. but that's how I roll.. always has to be a good deal. I realized when I saw these cuties on the clearance rack that I had a belt that would look so cute with this.. and so this look was born. Got my Leather look on!

I am so excited I finally was able to get the Faux Leather Jacket I have been wanting . I know I have a no shopping challenge till my birthday but when I have a $10 reward from Jcpenny and this was on sale.. I decided to splurge a little. I ended up getting this for $24. I love the fact that this looks unique with the gold buttons. I think it gives it such a polished look. I paired this with my maxi dress from Charlotte Russe . I love the black and beige combo on this dress.. one of my favorite looks in a maxi. The weather in Indiana was gorgeous all weekend. .. it was so warm that me and my boyfriend were able to sit out on the patio during lunch.. now that is almost unheard of  in October in Indiana!

Earthy Girl

When my teenage daughter sees me this morning she says don't you look earthy.. not sure if that was a compliment it is hard telling coming from a teenager. The compliments are few and far between.   I don't know about you ladies I am so ready for the weekend and for once there is no football in my weekend plans. My son's team is # 1 ( go team!) and so they are waiting to find out who they will challenge next week.

My look today is a casual versatile look. I love light sweater material of this skirt and the color is my one of my favs for this season. It is supposed to get up to upper 70's today so I started the day with a jean shirt and I know I will end up taking it off before the day is over. That is the beauty of layering.. you are always prepared.  Enjoy your day ladies .. one more day till Friday!

White Dress Wednesday remix!

I know they say that you shouldn't wear white after Labor day .. at least that's what everyone said to me growing up!  But after much consideration and reading various blogs and finding looks on Pinterest I decided I would be a rebel and remix this baby.  I love the classic look of this Joe Fresh dress from Jcpennys.(and it was $4..what???). It gives me that whole Martha's Vineyard feel .. like I am going to be out walking on the Kennedy compound :) .. I love taking a basic classic piece and edging it up just a little bit so I added this Rock and Republic booties from Kohl's. I love how reading fashion blogs and following all these fashionista's on Instagram expand my mind as well as my closet! How are you ladies making the transition to Fall. Animal Print? Yes please!

It's no secret I love some animal print! I don't know if it's the wild side in me or what.. ( Please see my hair) . I got these pants from Jcpenny's a few weeks ago.. and when I saw the price of $2.97 that gave me encouragement enough to give these a whirl . I love the fact that these babies feel like PJ's being that I woke at 4 am and wasn't able to go back to sleep. I think these were the perfect choice for today. When my sister aka Single black female( please watch the old movie) saw me with these pants she didn't hesitate to see if she could find these at Jcpennys herself.. and yeah she did.. please see pic below.. Hello Gorgeous!

When I first saw this top I thought this would be awesome for breast cancer awareness month. Not
only because it has pink on it but because of the message.  When I see so many women going through the physical and emotion struggles during this what may be the most difficult time of their life.  How awesome would it feel to hear someone say.. " Hello Gorgeous " when they may not feel their most beautiful.  You never know what a difference a few kind  words will make in someone's  life .  Now a few years ago I never in a million years.. no a zillion years would I have felt so bold to wear this shirt. Afraid of what people would think of me or if someone would make some sort of smart comment. I guess with age you start getting the attitude.. Who gives a crap?  God made me a masterpiece... no matter what I am going through.. I feel blessed and guess what today I feel gorgeous!  Hope you "gorgeous" ladies have a magnificent day :)

Fierce Friday

I said to myself the other day..."Self I need more animal print in my closet!" Now since I am on this shopping challenge I knew that I wouldn't  be getting anymore to soon...but it was the clothes fairy smiled on me and my closet parted and there it was an animal print top I completely forgot about... ( Not really I just cleaned out my closet) . Marshall Finds!

Today was a the grand opening of a brand new Marshall's store which is about 10 mins from my job and about 15 mins from my house. What a dangerous location! I did go check out the new store in hopes that I would win one of the $50 gift cards that they were handing out. Unfortunately I was not a winner but I did see many very cute pieces however I did refrain from buying anything being that I am on a no shopping challenge and I am not even a week in.  I took the liberty of taking some shots to share some of the many fabulous pieces that I ran across.
