Fab 40's Go Grunge

It is my favorite time of the month again when I collaborate with the Fab 40's a international group of 40 something Fashionista's .  Every month one of us selects a theme and we each create our own individual interpretation of that theme.  

In November we wear  Grunge  selected by lovely Diane.  Now my first thought when I heard " Grunge "  was like... Okaaay! this going to a stretch for this girly girl but it actually turned out to be quite fun and took me out of my comfort zone. Than I start thinking back to my younger years and the first thought was a plaid skirt and some boots and than I said let's go like old school Madonna with some ripped tights. So my look is mixture of trends that capture the the different elements of the Grunge trend and that is this girls interpretation of Grunge!

Diane  of Fashion on the 4th Floor  selected the theme this month so I thought I should start with her fabulous look. I love the simplicity of  taking a delicate dress and adding the flannel shirt , jacket and the motorcycle boots it just takes that dress in an entirely different direction.  This look is the perfect balance between the feminine and adding edgy elements just works and she is just killing the game!Diane always gets it right every time she makes something so random just look amazing! 

Sheela of  Sheela Writes always amazes me with her take on the theme. I love how she went all dark for the grunge inspired look but added feminine details with the tiara and the embroidery leather jacket. Always a flair for the dramatic and she always brings it! Jenni of A Pocketful of Polka Dots - Jenni is giving me life with this gorgeous look . I love her hair and the floral dress that compliments it so well and she added the leather jacket and choker to add some edge and some sexiness.  You go girl ! 

Veronica - Cid Style File-  Veronica is giving me all kind of fabulous with this look. I am obsessed with that jacket and the bag and I love how her hair is braided back giving you whole grunge vibe . She looks amazing and nailed this look ! 

-Samantha of Fake Fabuluos has given me a serious case of boot envy . I love the lace up boot which looks totally grunge adding the plaid , layering and let's not forget that beanie. I feel like she is giving me a modern and more grown up way to wear grunge and I love it. 

Anne of Kremb de la Kremb- Anne is giving us a sexy grunge look with shorter dress and thigh high socks.  I love the polka dots giving it a more of a feminine grunge look. 

Sherry from Petite over 40- last but not least we have our guest blogger Sherry created her grunge look with a pattern skirt and oversize sweater and plaid shirt .  This is definitely look I would never have thought up on my own and she looks amazing !

    I really enjoyed this theme and can't wait to see what December has in store for the Fab40's .

Holiday Favorites !

It's that time of the year that we get the chance to get all fancy for holiday parties and gatherings and that can be a challenge with the busy lives we live as women.  Tis the season for gift buying, school programs , office parties and everything else that we handle in our regular lives. It's a good thing God mad us so fabulous because I don't know how we would get through these holiday weeks. 

I thought it would be a good idea to start thinking about great options for all the festivities that are coming our way to give you a little holiday inspiration.  These are some of my current favorite skirt and dress options that can take you to an office party , church or school program and some of the these picks are under $20 because this girl likes to be Chic on the Cheap .. LOL 

Let's start with the dresses because this girl loves her some dresses and holiday dresses are my absolute favorites .   I love a dress that can be classy and sexy at the same time and these options for me are just that. 

Red Dress- (here)-  Every girl needs a red dress for the holiday season and this dress at only $25 is the one you need. It is so versatile and can be styled so many ways and the wrap dress is flattering on all body types . 

Black High Low -(here) -  this dress is so on trend but it doesn't compromise the class and sophistication. I love the added sexiness with -peek a boo in the front. This dress perfect for church that office party . A classic piece that would be equally fabulous next year. 

Red Cape Dress (plus) (here)-  Yass darling we all need a cape and this $25 find  is just fabulous . The cape dress in striking red so simple and sexy .  This is perfect for a night out on the town , a holiday party and at $25 this is perfect addition to your holiday wardrobe.

Green Lace Dress (here) another gorgeous dress from the Eva Mendes line is so sophisticated with a little added sexiness. This is that perfect work Christmas party dress. 

Fringe Dress - (here)- I am loving the Tina Turner vibes this dress is giving me . I am obsessed with the movement and sexiness of this dress.  I have such an obsession with the fringe trend.

Black and Gold Pleated Plus  - (here) - This fabulous skirt is the perfect edition to your holiday wardrobe  You can easily take this to the office with a turtleneck and booties or add some heels and a lace top to be party ready and at $20 it's a yes yes ! 

Gold Polka Dot (here)- I mean Target does it again with this festive skirt.  What  girl doesn't love gold and polka dots? Be prepared for compliments galore when you wear this baby,

Gold Mesh Skirt - (here) a perfect skirt for every holiday event on your list . Another option to feel festive in the office or at church. 

Lace Skirt -(here) - plus (here)-  There are three things I love about this skirt it's lace, the color and that it even comes in a fabulous green.  J-LO always seems to get it right and this is a multi -functional piece that can be styled so many different ways .

Sequined Skirt Plus -(here) - There is nothing that says it's the holiday quite like sequins and this bold blue is just simply amazing and a great statement piece for the season. Tar-Jay there you go again being all fabulous!

Pleated Gold Midi-(here)-  I love the simplicity of this skirt piece that you could totally rock with heels , platforms or gym shoes. I would add a bomber jacket to give it a fun twist and it's $25 .. Oh yes.  Yes Forever 21 I am 44 but I am all up in your store.. LOL

JTV.com Holiday Collection

With the Holiday's approaching, so quickly I was very excited to check out JTV.com’s holiday collection.  I was compensated for this post and received the jewelry pieces as payment but views are my own. 

My Aunt and Uncle are JTV.com regulars so I was well aware of them before I was even approached. My Love of the Eva Mendes Line

 I love me some New York and Company the first thing I look at when I go into that store or shop online is the Eva Mendes line.  I am like " What does Eva got going on today" You know like we are old friends or something. Her line just exudes so much class and sophistication and that is exactly how I want look when I leave the door and face the world everyday . 

As many of you know I am a bargain shopper and I almost always wait for something to go on sale but that wasn't the case with this dress. I actually saw this dress in the +People StyleWatch  magazine a few weeks ago when I was on a plane.   I have been stalking the site ever since.  The good news is there was a coupon involved in this transaction and it did make the price reasonable. 

This dresses color combo and pattern mixing makes this  dress a fashionista's dream come true. I would totally rock this with a fur vest jacket or even a duster to change it up . It is a wrap style dress that is universally flattering so I am thinking maybe you might want to add it to your cart.
