Giving Tuesday with Gordman's

On Tuesday, November 28th I had the pleasure of hosting an amazing night of giving back at Gordman's here in Fort Wayne.  The #GTHANKS event was a fun night of giving that consisted of shopping, giveaways, and snacks. I mean what girl doesn't love those things? The most amazing part of the night that 10% of the proceeds were donated to a local non -profit Mad Anthony's Children's Hope House.  Mad Anthony's Children's Hope House provides lodging for families from Northeast Indiana who's child is having a surgery or procedure that require the child to stay overnight. There is nothing a parent wants more than to be close to their child when they are in pain and dealing with medical issues. I was once that parent when my son was 2 so I know that feeling and there were people and organizations that showed me kindness. Such a fun night shopping for a good cause and the first 50 shoppers received a gift bag that included a $5 giftcard and you even had the chance to sign up to win $100 giftcard. I loved interacting with the customers finding all the things on their list and oh so much more :) 

You will not believe the fabulous finds at Gordman's.  You could basically get all your shopping done in one place and the brands they carry at such a deep discount makes this Mom so happy. I mean I saw many Jessica Simpson bags for $10 how can you beat that?

There is definately something for everybody on your Christmas list . I love a one stop shop it makes my life easier but also I feel good about what I am giving. 

 I am so thankful to Gordman's for allowing me to be a part of such an amazing event! A special thank you to all the customers that showed up for a good cause. I had a wonderful time!

Shopping and Remixing my Closet

This time of year you can find some amazing deals on just about everything.  Believe me, I like to indulge in the holiday deals but I love it even more when I can style the pieces that I already own and create a look that I am excited about. I was lucky enough to find some oldies but goodies and added some new accessories to create this look! 

I remember I purchased this plaid pencil skirt from Old Navy I loved it so much that I had to purchase the blue version as well. I adore the high waist style of this skirt. I decided to add a red turtle to allow the red in the skirt to pop. 

 I love this color combo and probably at one time would not have thought about wearing them together but luckily I am fashionista who has evolved. I love trying new things it keeps it new and fresh.

 I have had a fascination with fur stoles this year and knew when I saw this beauty at Express I just knew it had to be mine. I love the ombre effect and I can see this in constant rotation this fall and winter.  A piece that you can certainly style so many ways. 

 It's amazing the things you find in your closet that you forget about. It is kind of like life you are always on the search for something new and exciting and forgetting all the fabulous that we have at home.  I am learning to appreciate the things that I already have and that doesn't mean that you shouldn't aspire for more because you should always be willing to work and grow. 

I love the versatility of this fur stole changing look is very simple. My kind of fabulous simple and affordable! 

 I even had these colored tights from last year I thought they finished the look quite nicely it's amazing how simple accessories can take your entire look a notch.

 I thought this color block coat would add some pattern mixing and at first I wasn't quite sure then the more I looked at it the more I liked. It's always fun to experiment with fashion. This coat is another one of my favorites and I feel deserves another appearance in 2017.

Holiday Lookbook in Velvet

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of checking out the Tracee Ellis Ross collection at my local JCPenney. Now I had already made up my mind or should I say my bank account limited myself to only 2 items and let me tell you it was a little hard to narrow it down. I previously blogged about my first item you can check that out (here)  The second item I decided on was this reddish velvet dress one because I am totally obsessed with all things velvet right now and I loved the stylish and sexy vibes it gives me. This is also a staple item that I can style so many different ways and you guys you know that I love to get more for my money.  

 I love that this line accents curves on every body type and all the pieces are at affordable prices and all styles come in plus size. 

 I love that this dress hugs your curves and yet still keeps it tasteful and vibrant color makes it such an amazing addition to your holiday wardrobe. I decided to rock it with my super cute loafers that I had been stalking at Shoe Dazzle. Where you can join and get this pair for $10 (here)

 It's amazing how a cute dress can take your confidence level up a notch and I felt totally comfortable rocking this dress on my less than perfect body. That is really what it's about embracing who you are at this moment. I am not exactly where I want to be at the moment but I am still am loving the skin that I am in.

 With so many holiday events coming up it's great to find the dress that is multi-functional and doesn't break that bank. Can't wait to rock it for a more casual look. Like Ms.Ross does in combat boots or some cute sneakers.

Holiday Lookbook - Chapter 2

We are now on to holiday look number two.  I love black and gold during the season it is just so sophisticated. I fell head over heals in love with this gold and black little number from +Jcpenney when it was a new arrival but low and behold the waiting game really paid off. I got this perfect dress for almost every holiday party for only  $15. Merry Christmas to me a month early ... LOL

I thought let's make this a little fun by adding the fishnet socks to the look. I have really wanted to try this current trend but I will have to admit this 45-year-old fashionista was a little bit nervous. I got over myself and gave it a whirl and I really like it.

That is the thing about fashion it is meant to be fun. What better time than to try some new things over the holidays! Add some pizzaz to your life whether its fishnet socks or some extra bling on your jacket! 

When I purchased this dress I knew that I would definitely be wearing it with my Eva Mendes military jacket. The velvet fabric works perfectly with this dress I mean such a fabulous dress has to have an equally fabulous jacket what a great combo if I do say to myself.

 I would wear this dress to a holiday party. A Christmas Eve service maybe with tights and booties I mean the possibilities are endless.
