JLO and Jessica Style on blog plus exciting news!

When I say it's a cold day in Indiana that is an understatement. It is -9 and feels like -29 . This is just a painful cold.... like I wish I could sit on the couch all day kind in my onesie PJ's type of day! LOL.. How lucky are the kids not having to brave this bitter cold? Enough of my whining because really I could go on all day.

I have some very exciting news I was featured on this awesome website little Indiana . If you live in Indiana you really need to check out this website. Jennifer Nunemaker is the voice behind little Indiana and she will really put you in the know about everything from entertainment, food and great places to stay. I just love her writing style and if you don't live in Indiana check it out plan a vacation with us Hoosier's.

Today I am wearing a dress.. yes I know it's -9 but I was in dress type of mood. Don't worry I came in with tights tall boots and a long coat, So I am kind of sane...LOL. The dress is JLO from Kohls. I got this dress last year and I think it was my sister that said it wasn't cute..but I saw something in this dress . I do like the pattern but the fit is really what sold me. I am a definite pear shape and this really flatters the waist and that is a must when you are a pear. I added some polka dot pattern tights ( trying to pattern mix a little) and topped it off with my Jessica Simpson shoes that I got from my haul Curlybyrdie on a Hunt. I love that these shoes are grey I tend to lean towards black and I love even more that they were only $16. How is the weather in your neck of the woods? I hope you fashionista's have a warm, terrific day!

Also Ladies don't forget when you show any blog featuring any items from Clothes Mentor Fort Wayne you can get double punches on your key chain on any day of the week. For any of you that are new to Clothes Mentor you get a punch for every $10 you spend once this is filled up you get a free $10! For even more savings you can bring in some of those things in your closet that you no longer love and get cash on the spot.. or you can look around for some fab finds!

Be my Valentine times 2

Nothing says Valentine's Day like a red dress. I had this little number in my closet for about a year. Its a well made dress from one of my favorites Jcpenny. I thought I should style this for maybe a Valentine Day lunch or early dinnner. I also  created this as a night on the town look ...maybe to listen to some live music or a few Martini's . I paid $20 for this dress and loving the fact I can achieve two totally different looks...is such a bonus! Which look do you like better? What are your fashion plans for this day of love?

One Cold Leopard!

Let me tell you it is cold here in Indiana.. We are currently at 10 degrees and that is supposed to be the high.. so taking these pics outside this morning was a little crazy!! I opted for some pants with this shirt instead of my original plan of wearing a skirt!  I love this shirt it is from my haul from Clothes Mentor in Fort Wayne  it is Jones of New York and I love the fit , the pattern and it was only $6 .  I like the fact  that you can go there and get tops in all kind of different styles and not have to spend a lot of money and you know that is what I am about.. just call me a frugal fashionista. I can think of at least 3 different ways I can style this top which even makes it  a better deal! If you need staple pieces I am telling you really should try Clothes Mentor so you don't have to break the bank.. and that also means you get more.. and I don't know about you guys but Curly Byrdie likes more! I  decided to pair this with my red Kardashion Kollection pants. I have had these pants for about a year and never worn them. They were hiding in my closet and were rediscovered recently. I just love when that happens!

For all you fabulous ladies that didnt' see my last post .  If you show a copy of one of my  posts  that feature any of the items from Clothes Mentor you can get double punches on your key chains. If you are not familiar with Clothes Mentor I will put you in the know. You get a punch for every $10 you spend and once you fill up the key chain you get a free $10 ! So if you show this post than you get 2 punches for the price of one! I like those kinds of deals!  Also if you have any items hiding in the back of your closet bring them in for cash or get some more goodies!  Have a wonderful day fashionita's !

Curlybyrdie Hunts Part 2- Dress Love!

If you have been following my blog than I am quite sure you are aware of my love for dresses.. So when I walked into Clothes Mentor the rack with the dresses with actually my first stop.. Imagine that . My first discovery was a Black and White striped White House Black Market dress.  Now I have been in White House Black Market store and I love their stuff but you know me.. It has to be reasonable. This dress was marked $25. I love the fit  and there are so many possibilities with this little dress.  I chose to add a winter white tuxedo jacket and my awesome Lauren Conrad shoes.  I can see adding red jewelry even my red booties.. Can you tell I love it? LOL

The 2nd dress I found at Clothes Mentor was this Ann Taylor dress. I love the color-blocking with yellow. I missed this dress when I first came in store and when I skimmed the rack before I left it caught my eye and I am oh so glad it did! After I got home I kept thinking I need a yellow necklace to go with this..the next day I checked Clothes Mentors Instagram and they posted this lovely yellow statement necklace.. Oh you know what I am going to say it was meant to be.. ;) I paired this with my Lauren Conrad high heal oxford and my Peplum H&M blazer and my look was born.

Which one do you like better? I can't make up my mind but I am quite sure these dresses will be in my clothing rotation for sometime!

For all you fashionistas that bring in one of my blog posts with items featured from Clothes Mentor you can get double punches not just on Sunday! If you are new to Clothes Mentor.. For every $10 you spend you get a punch  out on your key chain..when it's filled you get $10 off!  How awesome is that?

Curlybyrdie on the Hunt

I was so fortunate to have a 3 day weekend.  I stumbled on some awesome finds this weekend which made the time off even better. I took my hunting to Clothes Mentor right here in Fort Wayne. For all you fashionista's that haven't heard of Clothes Mentor I am about to give you the ultimate bargain fashion scoop( thank me later). They are a resale shop that buys and sells  gently used fashionable clothes, shoes and accessories. The awesome thing about this is you can get all those name brand items that love but you refuse to pay department store prices for. You can also sell some of the items that you once loved but have no use for any longer and get cash on the spot or add some cute stuff to your closet!

I took some pics while in the store to show you some of the fashion finds they have a available,. This really is a small portion.. you need to come in the store for the full experience.  I  have included pricing below just so you can see how reasonable they really are. The last look is actually a jacket I purchased there for $6 . This is an Apt 9 cheetah jacket from Kohl's . . What I love about this jacket (aside of the obvious fact that it's cheetah) just throwing this jacket on with a simple top and jeans I changed my entire look and it only cost me $6 to do so. Also check them out on Facebook and Instagram for some new arrivals and great finds. Over the next few days I will feature some of the great pieces from Clothes Mentor I added to my closet and how I styled them... so stay tuned :) I hope everyone has a terrific Tuesday!

For all you fashionistas that bring in one of my blog posts with items featured from Clothes Mentor you can get double punches not just on Sunday! If you are new to Clothes Mentor.. For every $10 you spend you get punch on you key chain..when it's filled you get $10 off!  How awesome is that?

Camo Sunday

Despite the cold weather today was a good day. My teenage daughter was kind enough to accompany  me to do a little shopping. We went to Clothes Mentor and boy did I get a haul. I can't wait to blog about my awesome finds. You know I love a deal and they had some great name brand items for just a fraction of what I would pay at department stores.  So please keep your eyes open for my haul in the next few days.

I wore my camo dress that I got from Jcpennys a few months ago and paired with my boots I recently purchased from there as well. I love the thickness of the material very good quality.  Joe Fresh is definitely one of my favorite brands so on trend and reasonable.

Deal of the Year( so far) + Best Places to Shop this weekend

I have definately found the deal of the year... well so far. What makes this deal great is that I have been eyeing it for awhile at Jcpenny. This cutesy skirt fits well and the material is nice and thick feels like good quality.  I also have a hot pink one just like this that I blogged about previously on my post  Hot Pinky Lady. I paid $8 for the pink one and thought this was an excellent deal untill I ran up on this baby for $.97 .. and than I was able to take another 25% off.! How awesome is that 73 cents..I was able to get 2 of them one for my sister as well.  Now you can't beat that!  I love that fact that you make this really casual and glam it up also. I decided to go for a little glam by added this blinged out statment necklace and patterned tights. I know I will definatley get some wear out of this little skirt.. can't wait to share .

Now I wanted to fill you in on what I think are the best places to shop this weekend if you are looking for some real bargins.

My Very Midwest Look

With it being so cold here in Indiana... you kind of get out of the mood to dress up. I am just trying to stay warm over here. This morning I decided lets put the cords away and style this little chambray dress up. I want to feel pretty today but I want to be warm also. So this look was born. I have had this little Old Navy dress for month. I got it for $4 so after organizing my closet this past weekend . I decided today was the day I would get my moneys worth.. lol. I matched it with my a scarf that I have had for a while. Since its so cold here I decided to wear my long socks over some pattern tights I had. So this casual Midwest look was born...
