Fab 40's -Getting Preppy with it!

I can not believe that we are already done with October ? Time is just flying by so fast that it's making my heard spin.  On a good night it is that time of the month that I collaborate with the Fab 40's a group of my international fashionista's get together once a month to give our interpretation of a theme and October them is "Preppy".

When I think of preppy I think of this old 80's movies like the movie "Class " with Rob Lowe with the sweater tied around his neck looking oh so fine and still is. . I mean he was one of my crushes from my younger years.. LOL . Anyway let's get back to the theme. I decided to give that classroom vibe with the sweater around the neck and lets add some knee socks to the mix to really go there.

                                                          The Fab 40's

Diane -Fashion on the 4th Floor - I am so obsessed with this look maybe because I also own this vest but I just love they way she styled it . She is the modern preppy and she looks  amazing and Diane I may need to borrow those booties !

Jennie- A Pocketful of Polka Dots- I am loving the classic preppy that Jennie is giving us  the blazer with the button down and adding some pearls . I feel like she is giving us a little Molly Ringwald from the Breakfast club. Love it

Samantha- Fake Fabulous- Samantha is really giving us hints of preppy and she gives you just enough to make this trend visible and give her own take preppy!  Awesome girl!

Sheela -Sheela Writes - I am always excited to see what Sheela is bringing this week she always has such amazing style and thinks out of the box. I love the ripped jean element with ruffle top . I would definitely classify this as a modern preppy with some sass! You go girl

Veronica - Cid Style Files - Veronica is giving us casual preppy with the plaid shirt and pattern mixing it up the leopard shoes and that great detail of the glasses that complete this preppy look . It's all about the details .

Ann- Kremb de la Kremb- Ann is bring that whole sexy teacher look complete with the glasses . I am loving the plaid pants with the graphic tee and yes spending is sexy . She really knocks it out the park with this fabulous take on the preppy trend.

Michelle - Retro Chic Mama - I am so happy to welcome the beautiful Michelle to our group along with her incrediable style .  Michelle gives us chic preppy with the wide pants adding the tee element with the blazer with the perfect ponytail to top it off. Amazing style she has :)

What a fun month with the Fab 40's I had such a great time with this theme and I can't wait to see what November is bringing ! See you soon and thank you for stopping by

Everyday Runway Campaign with Kohl's - The Last Layer

The last layer is that final piece that you put on to finish off your look.  It is such an key  piece to your look and the last thing that people see. So let's make the last piece one to remember!

I am so excited to show this look because it was actually one of my favorites from the " Everyday Runway " campaign with Kohl's .  I am also sad because this is the final post from this amazing experience that I had with Kohl's and these fabulous ladies that I now consider friends.

                                                    Style for EVERY body

I love how each one of these looks are totally different and illustrate how there a option for this trend for each and every women and that is  what this campaign is all about.  We all want to feel fashionable and fabulous when we walk out the door and Kohl's mad each one of us feel just that.

                                                         Totally In-Vested

Dress (here), Vest (here), Shoes (here)

The vest has been on of my favorite trends for the fall and this vest right here is just perfect and it is something that can be styled in so many ways with skinny jeans, a pencil skirt or a sweater dress. It is the ideal statement piece for the fall . It was total love at first site when I saw color block perfection and I thought it look so chic with this fabulous Jennifer Lopez dress. What I love about this look it is conservative meets sexy and it works and reflects my style and personality which I love because that is exactly what fashion is supposed to do .

I can't begin to explain how much this experience has meant to me. The "Style for EVERY body "  campaign is everything that I believe in my life. I don't have a model body I am just an everyday women that wants to wear current trends and feel good about myself.  Kohl's did a perfect job of making each and everyone of us feel like celebrity and I will forever be grateful .

A Flair for the Dramatic

If there is one thing that I have learned in my 44 years is that it's okay to live your life out loud and you don't have to apologize for it .  It's a lesson I wished I discovered  many years ago but you know what better now than never.

When I first saw this top I thought well is this a little to much with the feathers?  Than I thought Curlybyrdie in feathers ..why not? Sometimes you have to just be bold and go for it and this top is definitely attention getter and it's fabulous .  I decided to pair this top with my J-LO high waisted culottes because who does fabulous better than J-LO ?  I am thinking not to many people and add the animal print accessories for a little something extra because this girl loves her some extra ..

Top -(here) , Pants (here), Shoes (sim), Clutch (sim)

What do you think of this fabulous top ? Do  you love it as much as I do it would be a perfect top for the upcoming holiday season another gorgeous piece from Eccentric Kristoure.  You can use code CHIRPS for additional 10% off of your purchase..

Thank as always for stopping by it's always my pleasure and I wanted to leave you with this quote  that I find true from personal expericance weather it be in fashion or any aspect of your life.

Kohl's Everyday Runway Campaign - The Feminine Blouse

There is nothing like a classic white blouse it is a must have for any wardrobe but take it a notch further add those feminine details that create a more romantic approach .  I was surprised how much I loved this look I saw the blouse and immediately just thought boho and Kohl's senior stylist Maggie showed us the many possibilities and yes I was impressed.

Feminine Blouse - School Girl Chic

Blouse (here), Skirt (here), Boots (here), Bag (sim)

Ok I thought my days of wearing a shorter skirt were behind me but Maggie convinced me otherwise adding the boot with the knee sock so didn't feel like I was showing to much leg . The A-line skirt flattered this pear-shaped body and this look made me feel young and vibrant and anything that makes this girl feel young it is something that will be in my regular rotation.

                                                    Style for Everybody

I loved each and everyone of these looks and what I love the most is they  flattered Every Body type . We all want to feel stylish and able to wear the lastest trends and this campaign does just that.

It is a beautiful thing to see ladies standing in front of the mirror and see that look on there face and they are totally thinking.... " Yeah I look good!"    We all need those days

You can check out some behind the scenes footage of this amazing experience with Kohl's and these beautiful ladies that are now my friends.

Transition that Maxi

If you are anything like me there are pieces that you have purchased in the spring and summer and you are  just not ready to let them go or they been in the back of the closet and you have forgot all about them.  Now the cooler temps have started to settle in it's time to come up with ways to transition those items into the fall season.

This fabulous maxi skirt is a season friendly item because of such a versatile color combo . If I was wearing this in the summer I would  opt for a brighter and vibrant color like orange to add to this look or maybe a white tank top but now that we are in those cooler fall months I am thinking I will pull out the olive green that is in the skirt  or maybe even sport it with just simple black turtleneck and big belt or a long sleeve button up going for more of a polished look.

I decided to add some of my favorite new booties that I purchased from +Target and add a faux leather jacket and jean jacket to give more options for this gorgeous skirt and highlight the olive color in the skirt. I think it works well and gives me options and yes ladies we do love options.

How about you Fashionista's are you taking those spring and summer items and making them a little more fall friendly ? I would love to know what tips and tricks are using to make that transition to fall fashion a little bit smoother.

I want to thank you for taking time out of your day to come visit my little corner in the world it's been a pleasure.

Fall Obsession - Shades of Burgundy

Every season it seem like there are particular colors that I just can't seem to get enough of .. I guess you could say that I get just a little obsessed with. Some may say that I have a borderline addictive personality but ladies I am loving all these shades of burgundy that I am seeing out here in these streets!

When I first laid eyes on this faux leather with fur burgundy skirt I almost had a fit.. I mean all my favorite things rolled up into one ! All I can say is +Eccentric kristoure  you sure know how to make this girl swoon.  The skirt is so on trend that I wanted to give the top a more classic vibe balance it out a little ,.. you know kind of like the whole sweet n salty thing.  Does that make sense? In my mind it makes perfect sense.. LOL

                                                     Classic Lady

Skirt  (here), Blouse  (here), Pumps  (here), Bag (sim)

                                              All Burgundy Everything

With such an awesome skirt I had to style it more than one way because that would be such a waste on something so fabulous !

I decided to take it a step further and fill you fashionista's in on the other  items in the burgundy family that  I found simply irresistible. Let me know if you agree.

Booties New York and Company , Dress - Kohl's,  Hat The Limited, Sneakers Kohl's
Caged Boots-Just Fab, Duster New York and Company, Bag - Kohl's

So did any of these catch your eye? Which one did you like the best? I am totally in love with the Adidas gym shoes.. so different and the reviews say very comfortable so I am thinking  I will be adding those my cart very very soon :)

As always I want to thank you for stopping by it's always a pleasure

Kohl's #Everyday Runway Campaign - The Ankle Detail Jean

Wow I can't believe it's been over a month since my awesome experience with these lovely ladies and being treated like super models thanks to Kohl's . If you missed this first part of this fantastic "Fashion Mission " as my good friend Berty likes to call it than you can see it (here)

What I love most about the #EverydayRunway campaign is that there a Style for Every Body!

I have always struggled with finding jeans because this fashionista has some butt and hips going on and the struggle is real so I was a little worried that they wouldn't have jeans to fit  this pear shaped body but I  was wrong because I am loving these Rock and Republic Jeans the ankle detail makes them so on trend and perfect addition to my wardrobe.

Rock and Republic Jeans (here), Sonoma Anorak Jacket (here), Jennifer Lopez Heels (here)

This look is one that I would have not thought of and thanks to Maggie our fabulous stylist she made me see the light. I  would have not considered this jacket because I felt like it wouldn't enhance my waistline but she solved all of that with the belt and this turned out to a look that I absolutely adore and one the looks I selected to come home with me! I mean I have these jeans on serious repeat!

So lets see how these lovely ladies are rocking the Ankle Detail Trend

Well Hello October

I can't believe October is  finally here it my favorite month partly because it is my birthday month(all those birthday coupons)  and of course Pumpkin spice season is in full effect so two things I can get excited about.  October is that month when you have wrapped up the school shopping and that little break before the holiday season gets in effect the calm before the storm.. LOL

As I sit here I am thinking about how I will spend this October preparing myself for my 44th birthday  . My sweet mama used to tell me that it will come so fast and man she was not lying I feel like I was 25 yesterday.. what the what?  I think the hardest part about getting older is seeing you reach another phase of your life.  This year by far as been the most difficult watching my daughter start the next chapter of her life , college.  I am very proud but I miss her and I miss that phase of my life more than I ever thought I would.  I can remember those years complaining because I was a single mother of two kinds and sometimes I would feel overwhelmed , tired and just stressed out but what I wouldn't give for those days again.

This blog has been my best friend over this transition it has given me a voice at a time that I didn't think I had one. I know now that is far from the truth I have something to say... we all do . Sometimes we as women get caught up in being everything to everyone else that we forget we have a story to tell  and there are people out there that are interested.
This blog has connected me with so many people and gave me experiences that I never even knew would be in my future.   I understand that God creates opportunities that far surpass anything that would have ever thought was possible in my life  and for that I am so grateful.

October for me will be a month to show gratitude for all the blessings in my life, to love deeper and pray harder.   I will also continue telling my story because there no better person to tell it than yours truly

Now this would not be a post without a little fashion.  As many of you know that I am currently obsessed with two trends and that would be olive green and the off the shoulder look and when you find a dress that has both trends together that makes this girl very very happy.  This dress is from my favorite boutique Eccentric Kristoure and this boutique is perfect for those fashionista's that want a grown and sexy vibe.  I  am a 40 something mama so I want to keep it sexy but still classy . The dress selection is just amazing I promise you will not be disappointed and you can get more savings using the CHIRPS for 10% off .  I added my favorite Merona Target pumps that I have in like every single color they are so comfy and I am at point where comfort is everything and for the finishing touch I added a black ribbon I had around the house and tied it around my neck to create a choker effect.  This look perfect for a night out on the town and complete look under $100 ...

Dress (here), Shoes (here), Clutch (sim)

I want thank you so much for stopping by it means so much to me .  I also want you to remember that no matter what phase you are in your life it is never to late to follow your dreams. Who would have thought this 40 something mama of two would be working with major brands for campaigns so don't ever let someone tell you that you are too old, too fat , too skinny , you hair is too  big.. there is no one quite like you. Be the person that God has created you to be!
